Well I think being that there are going to be a ton of Alonso supporters at Spain, Alonso is going to be tough to beat. I only heard that McLaren are down on power from another thread, though it does make sense that they are because of the lack of recent engine failures. And even with turning the revs and power down, they are still having engine problems. F1.com shows JPM had an engine related problem. But then again, at this point, not a lot will surprise me; I could see Kimi winning in Spain, he did win there last year.

Awesome race, I think Schumy is back guys! As what Ferrari said, the real season started at Imola for them.

That was a good race. Almost perfect from Schumacher, and nothing wrong with Alonso’s drive, either. I’m really loving this Schumacher v.s. Alonso battle, it’s a lot of fun to watch.

Not too many highlights from that race, but it was good viewing. One thing that did sprise me, however, was the number of failures. Williams definatly have a problem, and Honda need to work on their issues as quickly as possible.

They went for more reliabilty over speed it seems after last year... I truly don't see them winning a race.
Last time somebody said that (2004, when McLaren were well and truly hopeless) they had to run around Silverstone nude.

Honestly, though, I think Räikkönen has a good chance of winning at Monaco—the engine will not be so much of an issue (assuming it’s reliable), and the aerodynamic and mechanical grip that the McLaren has will definatly help.

Also, I believe Mercedes have stated that they will have the most powerful and most reliable V8 engine by the end of the season. Perhaps as the year goes on, and the engine is further developed, McLaren will be able to put up more of a fight.

They have indeed.

I'm very interested to see how Torro Rosso get on in Monaco. The V10s torque will be a massive advantage coming out of the slow corners.

True, but I believe that it evens it out with a higher center of gravity which will slightly give the V8's the slight advantage during the corners. We'll have to see though when they do get to Monaco, and I can't wait.

Somehow, I don't see Liuzzi and Speed being able to outqualify Alonso and Michael ;)

The minimum centre of gravity of the engine is defined in the Technical Regulations this year—so I’m pretty certain there will be little, if any, difference in the centre of gravity of the engines.

i finally had some time to download and watch the race :) congrats to schumi for the win and Massa for his 1st podium :)
