If anyone has any info on pre-orders in other nations in Europe, then please let me know, but other UK pre-orders info would be nice. Anyway if anyone wants me to ask any online stores about questions related to pre-orders, I will be glad to email them for you lot.

GAME's pre-orders should be any day now, apparently, as I was told last week that they should be available sometime this week.

Keep updated by signing up for interest on their website at www.game.co.uk/ps3

I should be getting the console from them, as they will more than likely get more consoles than any other High Street store near here...

I have just updated the first post with the info you have provided, anyway thank you.

I just heard that you're probably right - GAME now say it'll be the middle of February before they will take any pre-orders, around 2 weeks away.

Do you seriously need to preorder! Im sure a week or 2 after the launch there will be plenty and it maybe slightly cheaper than preorder price... Im just going to see how it unfolds first..... You have heard about people who preordered and didnt get theres till way after people who just walked into a store got them.

Some people don't like to take risks, but some people like to guarantee a console for the launch.

Ive had a pre-order since last year with game, the same one i sold to a friend of a friend and somehow managed to end up back with! I phoned them an hour ago and they said my pre-order is still valid and they will be contacting me to update me. They also gave me a release date of 23rd March and a price of £425.

Seems pre-orders have been available for quite some time. My pre-order is number 7 on the list so people pre-ording with game now might have a bit of a wait.

Spec....

We received an email that Argos is now taking pre-orders, so we're going to apply with them as soon as possible...

The PS3 pre-orders started on the Argos website at 5am early on, so if you want to pre-order you better pre-order quick. However Argos will not be taking any more pre-orders, once they have past there allocation for launch.

Anyway I was the first to pre-order at my local Argos, and they said we will get it to you for launch.

I try and get this topic updated this Friday, but thank you for letting the good people know G.T.

Amazon.co.uk announced that they are planning to take PS3 pre-orders from today as well... however, at this precise moment in time, you still can't...

(Helpful list in post #1 by the way, +rep :embarrassed:) )

FYI. Just pre-ordered from amazon.co.uk.

Steven

👍 Thanks for the heads-up...

... so.... tempted.... to.... click .... must..... resist.....

edit: Does pre-ordering from Amazon actually entail paying for it now???

Page 1 of the PS3 General Discussion Thread has some links, but I'm also getting some idea of what will be available on amazon.co.uk as well...

I see, I'd probably buy it with Visa as well...

...I'm just not sure about whether to wait and try to get a decent bundle, and whether or not you get a choice of colour of the console...? I was assuming that the PS3 was available in black, silver and white, but I'm not sure if you can stipulate a choice of colour in any of these pre-order deals??

On my travels, I have only seen Black ones. I am guessing that is all they are producing at the moment. The other colours no doubt will come later.

Steven

Curry's in the UK started taking orders online on Saturday. I got my confirmation letter from Argos on Saturday after ordering on Monday.
By all accounts there will be plenty for launch. But some say this is because of a lack of demand or because Sony have plenty available. The truth lies somewhere between the two I think. I can't see demand being as high as a Christmas launch but then again there's a lot of expectant Playstation fans and early adopters out there waiting. Wait and see I guess.

I've just read this post from a Blockbuster employee on the Official PS3 Forum. It gives details on what PS3 Pre-orders they have/will have available. It also mentions something about blu-ray being the only HD format Blockbusters are planning on supporting!

Ommadon@Playstation Forums 18-02-07
Blockbuster is only going to support blu-ray
I work at Blockbuster and there was a road show for the store managers on tuesday where it was announced that Blockbuster will only be supporting blu-ray on rental.

I thought ppls here would probably like to know this.

Also on a side note I saw a thread about the Blockbuster Pre-order of the PS3 so I thought I’d post some info.
About 2 weeks ago Sony told Blockbusters they would guarantee them 1400 units.
This would determine how many units they would get, blockbusters sold all 1400 units in 3 days as Pre-orders with £100 deposit.

People who pre-order it will get a PS3, blu-ray remote, additional wireless controller, Resistance Fall of men and Motostorm for a total of £549.99.

Now because Blockbuster sold them so quickly Sony have said that they will supply Blockbuster up to 8000 units if they are sold as pre-orders.

Blockbuster is now taking pre-orders with a £50 deposit and they where only selling it as a bundle but that has now changed you can just pre-order the console if you wish for £424.99.
If you have pre-order the bundle but don't want a certain item in it you can ask to have it cancelled and you won't have to pay for the full bundle.
Also you can pre-order any additional items and you won't need to pay a deposit on top of the £50.

All deposits are refundable but they may want you to take the refund as store credit but if you insist they will do a refund.

Blockbusters had a total of about 2500 pre-orders last time I checked it may of gone up a bit by now.

Hope this is helpful to you guys

P.S I think I heard they where going to come out with another bundle but we haven't had any details yet.

I've have now added a text based count down timer, to get you lot into the mood, anyway has anyone found any good European stores selling PS3's, that are not UK based.
