The scrolling message at the bottom of the screen during "Matching players" says that there are events with a low number of participants... for those with slow internet connections... will enhance playing experience, etc. etc.

Are they full of it or what? Where are these events? Far as I can see I can only enter the Daytona Oval and one other at the moment. Yeah I'm a noob but i don't like being lied to. I'd love to try events with less players so that I can practice nice clean punt-free races for a change.

It means that if there are a bunch of players with poor or slow connections joining an online race it won't match as many together as it would if a bunch of players with high speed connections join a race.

How many players do you get matched with on average? If you're matched with a high number of players it means your connection is good enough. You can't "choose" to be matched with a low number of players, there are no specific events with a low number of players, and the scrolling message isn't lying to you.

I understood it to mean that there is a choice, somewhere, for low-number player events. I guess I stand corrected. I routinely get into Daytona Oval with a dozen people... yet I also get "disconnected from server" now and then... proving my line ain't quite so super duper after all.

Maybe I'm just not up on the term "events". An event to me means a different track, different car types allowable, maybe different lap limits, different prize amount, etc. Not just "oh, we're just cutting the number of participants for your case".

When you are at the main screen in the game Read the "Manual" >"Online" it will show that if the colored circle has one man inside that that game has few players if it has 4 men inside that game has many players. But that doesn't mean that a few players will be in race, just a better chance of fewer players.

Thanks again. Manual? LOL. (sorry, I usually read such things. For work, technical manuals, etc. I'm one of the few... but I didn't this time. I will look for the icon.)

It may not be your connection that is the problem when you get disconnected from a race. Sometimes the host will quit before the race starts, or that the hosts connection is a bit iffy. I wouldn't worry to much about your connection. :)

Did have all the licenses yet?

Perhaps that's the reason you are only allowed to get into beginners races.

I know what you mean :) there used to be races for up to 8 players like Eiger Nordwand, London course... but there are none of those lately. PD doesn't give us any choices, it's always they same few track for weeks till the next update ... i think while they try to please everyone they lost sight somehow. The selection of online races is really poor and for me the biggest letdown, heres hope for improvement  :sly:

Ok, H20HYBRID_GT, thanks for that info.

Could be right. I never seem to have all the requisite races open for me at level "C". Car type wrong, or whatnot. Personally I could do without all the so-called real racing rules. Like being forced to buy crap-box cars just to be admitted to some races...

I just like driving. I'm not into the euphoria of "buying", negotiating funds or being forced to endure some impossibly challenging tracks as a "beginner" on a budget who only had a hand-controller. But that may be for another thread.
