I'm getting tired of people complaining about Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, McLaren, etc not being present in Gran Turismo and wanting them in the next Gran Turismo. Let me say that it will never happen because Electronic Arts owns the licenses to these manufacturers and their cars, so Polyphony Digital can not put them in their Gran Turismo series. The only way Ferrari, etc will end up in the GT series is if Electronic Arts hands over (sells) their licenses to Polyphony Digital.

Now that that is cleared up, we shouldn't hear any more complaints and/or questions about those manufacturers not being present in GT. We shouldn't see any more wishing for them to be in GT either.
 
Right said, the only problem is that no one uses the search function and are going to post about it anyways so in all honesty I truly believe thatno one is going to search for this in the first place. But it was a valiant effort.

You're just saying that just because it's not true. Look Eddy, people want to request to put exotics in the next GT game so please, it isn't right to contradict other people's beliefs.
 
I am gonna have to agree with eddy on this on guys. I mean, come on if you really want lambos that bad go out and buy need for speed.

Yeah, I will never buy a NFS game again. I bought NFS:HS2 for Xbox and I have not touched it since the 3rd hour I bought it. The game has absolutley no depth to it. I stopped playing it because I realized that I'd beat it in another hour or so. It takes no skill to play either. The main goal I had was getting enough money to buy the McLaren F1. I did and found that the cheaper sports cars were just as good. :rolleyes:
 
The Xbox version of NFS:HP2 was made by a completely different group of developers than the PS2 version of the game, and from what i've heard, the PS2 version got much better reviews everywhere.

I really liked the game and if i get enough spare money, i'll buy it. (already rented it twice)

And to say that Ferrari, Lamborghini etc will *never* get in a Gran Turismo game is like saying Microsoft is bankrupt.

All it takes is time...
 
By the way if you think all this requesting for Lambo's etc in the game is restricted to forums, then you wouldn't beleive the amount of e-mails i get from people asking for those manufacturers.

i have a few things to say

Project Gotham: Is this game created by EA because if it isnt they also have liscencing for the high powered exotics.

Need for Speed is not a very good game. One day Mclaren, Ferrari etc may realise this and change "sponsership"

im probably blaring on about crap because im pretty sure they wont be in it because of contracts

"CONTRACTS"(idiots terms)
The big company (EA) buy a big names with lots of dollars. Because they spent so much money on this contract the contract goes unconditional which means that no one else can create a contract because of the value put into it.(no conditions)
A conditional contract is one where many companies(or ones with smaller amounts of money than the big companies (Polyphony) buy a contract with a company that hasnt been bought yet and buying it cheap. So this company thinks that the only way that they will get more money is by offering many contracts to other small companies, Because EA dont want their cars.

This probably makes no sense LOL
 
This is a good point really as project gotham had no relation to EA.
 
Damn, I sure wish I knew who held the licence for Ferrari.

I guess since I can't remember, that means no-one owns it... so I want it in the next GT game!

I say we um, the moderators temporarily freeze people's accounts that whine about them not being in GT4. Then when they try to log in, they'll ge a screen or window saying "Sorry, but you have not complied with GTPlanet's rules.
(ie [it means WHICH MEANS, NOT IN EXAMPLE!!!] not attempting to search for a topic before posting about the same or similar subject)
 
complaining in this forum won't make things better you'll just have to hope they some how add those cars if not then quit whining:mad:
 
i played the ps2 ver. of the nfs game, it's nothing special.
 
I personally don't give a rats @$$ if their are no lambo's, porsch's, ect. Just shut the fu-ck up and play the damn game how it is or don't play it at all.
 
I am fully aware of licencing issues.

I would like some of the mentioned cars in GT4. Polyphony or whoever needs to should try and get the licensing issues sorted and if not we don't get the cars.

Is there a problem saying that you want the cars vs whinging and whining why they are not in GT3 ?

Do EA have an infinite exclusive license to these cars ?

In summary people should be aware of the licensing issues but this should not prevent them saying they would like a Lambo or Ferrari in GT4.

Although I don't normally endorse all that cursing, it basically sums up how I feel about missing those missing marques.

Some one at FIAT/Ferrari would be get mad if their cars were getting "beaten" by Skylines (even if it's a video game), anyhow.

I don't get it, if Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, et al al sponsored the game, then there's a good chance GT4 would sell for $80 a pop. Licensing is not free, you know.

firstly, my copy of gt3 came free with my ps2. and it was platinum anyway, i dont believe it would cost that much more.

secondly ferrari can get as mad as they want, but the fact is a 500bhp skyline could probably outclass anything ferrari has produced in everything except looks. though with 5 spoke white alloys and a bay blue body, it could be a close match :D hehe

oh yeah and as for need for speed, i bought 1, 2, 2se, 3, and 5... but ever since i played gran turismo i refused to involve myself heavily in any racing game that didnt drift. which basically meant everything bar gran turismo heh.

but i loved nfs 1 & 2, and to be fair at the time they were the best racing games available. just like gt3 is now.

and guess who owns www.needforspeeding.com ;)

The PS2 version of NFS : HP 2 was far more superior the its Xbox and GC counterparts (Was there a GC version?) Basicly , the Xbox and GC versions failed to get that " sense of speed " and fast gameplay into thier respective versions . The PS2 version was the best . And I'm still playing this game .

i played the demo on pc and i thought it sucked a bit. but when the helicopter started dropping depth charges onto my ferrari things lightened up a bit! :D

its one of these two:
one: Ferrari, McLaren, Lamborghini, etc etc dont want to see their cars beaten to death by the japanese ****, like someone stated before, or:
two: the other way around. Stupid japanese things cant let their all-fantastic, look-world-how-cool-my-cars-are, this-game-is-to-showcase-our-cars skylines, supras, evos, etc etc to be splatted by all these proven wonder machines. yeah, a 500 hp skyline could outclass anything ferrari has done, but a skyline isnt 500 hp stock. lez try putting it against an stock F50 that HAS 500hp STOCK and then see how it'd do. if you were nissan, would you like that?

still. its only a game. thats the most stupidest reason i've heard. ooh, i dont want to be in the GT series cuz im scared im gonna get spanked by japanese cars. ferrari's stock cars will blow the doors off any stock car in the game. if u soup up the ferrari some more, then the 1000hp skyline (or any other car like gt-one, vertigo, etc) wont even be able to keep up. so ferrari's got nothing to lose. i doubt nissan's gonna cry if the skyline gets smoked by a ferrari.

lets just blame it one EA for being greedy buggers who refuse to share their licenses with Polyphony. strange how Sega and Microsoft are allowed to have Ferrari's in their racing games. :mad:
 
it makes no sense though because i haven't played a game that even comes close to the realism of gt3. especially need for speed hp2, it has as much in common with driving 'simulation' as mario kart 64 does. ferrari are the stupid ones for allowing themselves to be put in a game that disgraces their cars by pretending they handle so poorly...

a stock 355 would easily better a stock skyline. in fact i have a review which shows exactly that. they took both cars around the nurburgring and the skyline turned out 6 seconds slower over an 8.5 minute lap. which isn't massive but ferrari have nothing to worry about. as for mods im sure its easier to obtain and hence increase the hp of a skyline to 1200 than a 355. hence nissan wouldn't have to worry about anything there. its the same way in real life, why should game 'reality' appear different?

The reason why you didnt like it much was you got the X-Box version. The PS2 version is way better. Whenever they take a game originally made for PS2 and convert it for other consoles it most likely sucks. This is true for alot of the games that were converted...

Uhh... Yeah. BMW? Opel/Vauxhall? What's the deal with them? They were in both games, so couldn't Lamborghini and Ferrari and all the others be in both games as well?

BTW, I happen to realize that no one has posted in this topic for a while...
