hey can't you see that no one has posted here for a while?!? whats wrong with u?

hehe only kidding, if i was a car manufacturer i would want the absolutely maximum possible exposure for my cars. i was really into cars before gran turismo 1 but to be honest i had never heard of the skyline. i knew there was a car made by nissan that was a ferrari beater but would never have recognised it on the street. fair lamborghinis aren't inconspicuous but why they aren't in the best driving game on the planet is anybodys guess.

ferrari manager: "hey guys lets sell our license to a company that cant make good racing games so it appears that our cars dont drive well"

im sure i've posted something like that in this thread b4 ! :D

oh yeah and as a followup to that, i thought porsches were totally lame until i played need for speed for hours and hours. i realised that they sound good and handle great, fair the real ones may not be controlled by 4 cursor keys but my point is that if i ever buy a porsche in the future it will be entirely thanks to that game. heh oddly enough it was made by ea :P

my m8 had the same experience and he's actively looking for a 911 right now.

The reason Ferrari,Lambo,Porsche,etc... wont appear in GT is down like most things simply to money, they have or have had there own games like for example Ferrari F355 challenge, Porsche Boxster challege(I think) on the ps1 and Lamborghini challenge on N64. As well as that I know that Ferrari for a fact loathe their cars being compared to others witness the recent attempts by journalists trying to figure the performance of the Enzo. Why these manufactures worry about getting bad write ups puzzles me if you are in the market for 1 of these cars you KNOW what you want you dont compare the mpg or 0-60 times in What car? Its all to do with keeping the marques Exclusive.

i would just go up to porsche and say "hey if you dont let us put your cars in GT4 then we will just use RUF's anyway!!"

apparantly porsche DID want to be in gt3, but ea said they still had exclusive rights to the licenses (why you give out licenses for such long periods of time is beyond me, especially considering the speed the computer world changes at), so porsche said hey just use the ruf's...

as for ferrari not wanting to be compared, that totally sucks. if some of their cars weren't as beautiful as they are, f40, 355, 456 but to name a few, then i wouldn't care. i've long heard that they dont care about their clients or racing drivers (except maybe schumacher). enzo ferrari was once described by a collegue, "as a business man he is excellent, as a human being he is a zero" one day people will just have enough and stop buying them, err maybe heh. i don't like any of the new ferraris at the moment so i wont be buying thats for sure :P

first off what up to all u gt fans. Im new and have some insight on what some people may not know.

what u must understand is that NFS came out first so by the time GT came out NFS was already established in the racing genere as one the pioneers of it. NFS had so many fans because they put u into the cockpit of some of the greatest exotics the world had ever seen. the only problem was u race, u win, unlock all the cars...and that was it.

ENTER:GRANT TURISMO!
gt came to the table with a whole different concept (and u gt fanatics know what that is) and chaged the way the racing genere thinks. it had something NFS didn't so it imediately gained recognition in the genere and not long after (about a month of its release) claimed the title.

ENTER:GRAND TURISMO 2
for all u guys that yearn for the "MISSING EXOTICS" think back to gt2 and u should recall a car that had the same body type as the ferrari 456 exept the engine was like a V6 or something (just like in gt when u had an aston martin that had a V6 and it couldnt hang wit the skylines, supras, etc.) so u cant say they haven't been trying to get them.

ENTER:GRAN TURISMO 3
this game put gran turismo in the fore front with little resistance and before making over it to the U.S. had a JGTC version of the diablo 6.0 and that car I have yet to see it be beaten by the calsonic or the inferior denso sard or somethin

I must tell u I have driven a porshe 911 GT3 in GT3 and it handled like a dream (I know it may seem unreal to believe me I could tell u how but then I'd have to kill u) and it had stock tires on it. so all I could say is don't be surprised to see one of those exotics in GT in the next edition EDDY because deep down inside u know if we had these exotics on GT there wouldn't be a NFS, test drive, or a ridge racer.
Also.....if u wana drive a ferrari in GT just pull a Zonda C12 out of ur garage, invision a 550's body on it, and listen for the 550's sound in ya head and u got a ferrari and and recognize that since the zonda can't be beaten by a skyline and its a 300,000cr u should realize the maranello won't be either.

STAY LOYAL TO THE KING OF ALL RACING GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

welcome to the board jsrb, hope you enjoy ur stay here!

as for ur post, interesting, but nfs's day has gone. it was king with 1 and 2, but they had to make a choice, either make it more realistic, or more arcadey. they went in between and lost. the game handled very arcadey and not like a real car but they removed the best part of the game which was the insane jumps you could do. if they had left the jumps in porsche challange it could have been a contender with gt in terms of fun. but gt beat it. if gt maintains its hold on F1, rally and includes all the exotics + makes car damage and jumps (mid air flips etc) possible as well as all the other annoying problems people have with the game, it will truly be excellent. but as it stands its still the best so i dont expect to see too much improvement in gt4. i hope there is though and it blows us away...

i still think my sniper mission (in the PD should wirte a big check thread) is a good idea...we kill EA then everything will be good:D...no EA= KICK A$$ GT4

Hopefully will can play GT4 in prison:)

NFS hp2 for the PS2. was the best nfs ive ever played. so ea only holds the rights to porsche now? they dont have rights to the lambo and ferrari license anymore?

If it's loopholes that you're looking for as regards these cars getting into the game, how bout this - last time I checked, Ferrari is owned by... FIAT, Lamborghini is owned by AUDI etc. etc. Not sure of what the legal position would be on rebranding certain cars as say the FIAT 355 for example :p

indeed that would be cool. but even though audi owns lambo and fiat, ferrari... i think they copyright is on the name rather than the company so ea still has the rights. but yeah fiat 355 or audi murcielago quattro :D
