Are you tired of idiots in the online rooms? I have been running a recommended car list racing room, it has been a great way to meet quality drivers. I hope to resume when the PSN is back up.

What it is:
FAIR
An online environment to race with other skilled racers,
or a place to hone your skills.
A place to meet quality racers.
A whole bunch of fun.

What it is NOT:
A place to overpower the competition.
A place to harass other drivers
A place to drag race
A place to trade

What are the regulations:
Everybody drives the same car from the recommended list
Racing hard tires or less
NO driving aids
Strong penalties
Damage on
Real edge of track traction
Race clean or you will be asked to go

Where do we race:
Winner of previous race picks track (normal or course maker) or calls a vote

Who picks the car:
Last place of previous race picks car BEFORE track is selected

How long are the races:
at least 2 laps or 25 miles (approx)

What is NOT allowed:
Hate of ANY kind
Background noise on your mic
Dirty driving
Corner cutting (must stay between the white lines)
Non race related chatter during a race
Your own cars

This has been a great format, and is great fun. My rooms fill up fast (usually the same drivers) and the pace is quick. Feel free to send me any questions you might have, or use my format to run your own fair race room. Look for us @ "EVERYBODY DRIVES SAME" as soon as PSN is back up.

And always remember "Its racing, NOT racism"

Well, why would anybody trade or drag race in a circuit racing room? Or a better question, why would anybody circuit racing in a drag room?

Well, well, drag racing all they way for me :).

I like doing Same Make car rooms also! I don't do it all the time, but it's nice to actually have matching competition...so the driving will be tested with skill rather then luck.

This rule ruin the game! Why i can't use my cars? This is so ridicule.

You do realize that you don't have to join a room like that if you don't like the rules set up by the host, right?

These sound like fun rules and something I should check out once PSN is back up.

I also REALLY enjoy same make racing.
Only problem is that I suck without the DL. :(

By not allowing "Your own cars," does this mean cars will be made available to me? Thanks for the help... it sounds like a great way to run a race.

Well, not having your own car is wierd, since people have different setups readdy for race. Why limit one of the most important things in racing? Whats the kompetition if all have the same car and the same default setup? Since some setups are better for some driving styles etc. You can allways have regulations on, like hp and weight etc. If you want people in your room to have certain cars, just call it out, otherwise kick them.

I assume your room name is called the dictator cup isnt it? A room for the poor and where people have no clue how to setup their cars join. Set hp weight, and tire restrictions and its gold.

Cars are used from the "Recommended" list. Only thing you can change on them are the tires.

You just don't get it, simple as that.

By having everybody pick the same car from the recommended list it means they can't do any tuning, so everybody is on exactly the same playing field. By taking tuning out of the equation it comes down to driver skill alone, and some people like that kind of racing.

Several years ago in the U.S. there was a series called International Race Of Champions (IROC) that had the top drivers from different kinds of racing pitted against each other. The cars were identical and the drivers didn't even know which car they were driving until the day of the race. It was all about seeing who the best driver was. That is the basic point of these kinds of races, it's about finding out who the best "driver" is, not the best "tuner/driver".

This is a great idea, and if I remember well, I think I participated to some of the races. That was clean and fun !!!

In the next few weeks (if I dont find your room) I will have more time to open rooms that will allow only one car from the ''recommended list'', with realistic tires, everything else set to the most difficult, no aids except ABS, real world tracks.

I'll start with AC Cobra on soft comfort on Laguna Seca. Title of the room will be ''SAME CAR, Real tracks & Tires''.

I just hope there will be clean opponants...

You just dont get it.

People like me are very interested by these rooms because we have no time to tune cars. But I still have little time to race.

There is no dictator, everybody is on the same car level. Only the best driver will win.

There is a lot of races with the same formula in Europe and Asia. It's fun to see all the cars always together on the track during the whole race.

I was thinking of setting one of these up when PSN eventually came back up...these rooms are so rare online.

I am thinking of starting an online team/league "INsame" could be the team tag. Example: INsame_fryercar.The racing would follow the format in my first post. The team will be limited to 8 racers, so that we could race other teams. It would be a points race/championship set up, First place finish would get 500 points and last place would get 50 points. Drivers that placed between first and last would get points on a decreasing/pro-rated scale dependant on how many racers participated. First team to 10000 points wins.

TheDrummingKING consider this an invitation to join, any other drivers may tryout once PSN is live.

Sounds great, I always enjoy these races because it's pure skill that separates the drivers (and I usually finish at the front :-))!

I noticed these races becoming more and more popular and I like the sound of a league.

The only thing I don't like is the small number of cars in the online garage, it would be so much better if you could have everyone use a car from your garage!!!

Cars from our own garage...

... and how will we be able to check if the car was not tuned in a way or another ?

I'd love to join, but when will you host (approximately)?

And what time zone are you in?

How that translates for me, I don't really know?
But I'll find a way or something.

USA and Canada start the day 5 to 8 (or 9?) hours after us.

I have a question.

Do we have all the same recommended car list or is it depending your progress in the GT5 career game ?

Because I would love to drive with a Miata - MX-5 per example...
