This will be the one you’ve all been waiting for, and it’s coming along a year from now in July 2026: houses.
We'll be getting GTA 6 before houses in a Test Drive Unlimited game. :p

Their plans for it do sound pretty intriguing, but this game seems more & more like it'll be worth picking up once it starts hitting its final stride in development updates.

Got to admire the balls of what amounts to "I know we've had to spend a year un 🤬 ing it, breaking our original roadmap to pieces and we're not even introducing the casino properly yet, but in another year you'll have this cool feature."

Which does, to be fair, sound pretty cool.

Im kind of surprised to see this game still has any steam in it whatsoever. I was really expecting it to be the racing game version of Concorde after it appeared to absolutely flop on launch. I’m glad though, maybe one day it will be good!

I remember being so excited for this game, I loved the old one. But with the bad reviews I never bought it. I have it on my wishlist still, waiting for a big enough sale.

So was I and then I bought it. Made it through the catastrophic release, spent hours for days trying to log into the game. Made it through the catastrophic racing experience with every other race being aborted due to connectivity issues. But finally... I had fun. Solo. For about two weeks. Explored the map, bought the cars I wanted... And abandoned the game. I came back for that tiny Ibiza map, had fun for a day... And never came back.

I tried. But my biggest problem is the lack of the TDU feeling (massive map and housing). Logging in, "waking up" in your house, walking to the garage and just drive in one direction to see sections of the map I never been to. Solar Crown with its big city feels more dead than O'ahu ever did. And you've seen all after a couple hours.

Please buy, so I can have hopes for TDU 4. :P

All credit to KT. They know they released a poor game last year and have received terrible reviews but despite all that, they feel they can salvage something and seem to genuinely be listening to community feedback. Good on them 😁

Taxi modes aren’t really taxi modes until they put this in the game:

And if that roadmap is as it is, why the heck did they release the game in that wretched, buggy mess? Pressure from Nacon?

I think many developers are under pressure nowadays to release games for particular deadlines. Forza Motorsport was the same - released in a horrible state and only later was it drastically improved.
Unfortunately, the racing genre is very niche and so perhaps publishers are not too concerned if it's released in a poor state - they just think with bug fixes and updates over time will bring them up to par. The initial sales figures are what matters most to them.

And let's be honest - when fans saw the name "Test Drive" it invoked great memories. Great memories= money up front= profit.

They literally should've delayed this game.

They took a massive hit below the belt releasing a completely unfinished empty mess.

It's the same content previous installments had from day 1.
