An R32 was a lot more expensive, has less aftermarket support, less potential and less zing.
And, c'mon... this is an EVO versus STI thread. Throwing in the R32 is like shouting "Perrier" into a "Pepsi" versus "Coke" debate.
Not at EVO prices it won't.![]()
EVO X interiors are not as horrible as previous ones.
The boxer burble is mostly muted on the turbo Imprezas... but they do still sound miles better than the 4B11T... which has all the aural intensity of the world's most powerful sewing machine.
Sadly, R32 sounds better than either of those two.. Atleast until Subaru builds an Impreza with twin turbo H6 engine.. and that's when Porsche's world would collapse.
Subaru Impreza WRX STi is better. Why?
- Coupe versions can be found in the older models ( why is this significant? because 2/3 door chassis is stiffer than 5-door one)
Subaru claims that the GD chassis is 10 percent and 82 percent stiffer in torsional and beam rigidity, respectively, than the GC chassis. Due to the increase in stiffness, the car has much better stability in corners and is easier to control at the limit.
An R32 was a lot more expensive, has less aftermarket support, less potential and less zing.
Am I the only person that isn't a big fan of the boxer sound? I feel like I am...
Neither, because I have taste. And when you have taste, you buy one of these:
