You should have bought an EVO, they're faster.

It doesn't much matter anymore anyway, they're both pretty slow compared to other cars in their price range these days.

Yea thats right, 8 years ago they were boss, all these years they didn't change. All they have left is the name.

I'm an Evo fan, I'm an Imp fan too, but not so much for the WRX, or the newer models, I'm an STI man myself. Come to think of it I don't really like the newer Evos either, I-VI that's what I've always preferred.

In a lobby a few weeks back. We were doing 5 laps at Laguna Seca and the only cars allowed were the Evo X and new Impreza. At the end I won in the 'preza by 5seconds from the next 'preza, who was a further 3 seconds ahead of the first Evo. So either I'm an amazing driver or the Scooby's quicker.

And I know which one of them is true. :)

The STi in the game is the JDM STI. Much faster than the North American ones. Different engine and suspension. Whereas the Evo is the same throughout the world. The STi u can buy here(Canada/USA) will lose to the Evo.

It's really disappointing. I wanted a reason to buy a new STI, but I just couldn't justify paying so much for such an uncomfortable car that didn't make up for it by being faster than all or most cars in it's price range. Sad really, once upon a time I'd get approached by Porsche and Corvette owners after a track session where I'd basically be asked "what is that winged box and how is it so fast?" These days a V-6 Mustang is almost a legitimate threat and the Mustang GT is on another level entirely, for less money.

EVO MR for $37k or Boss 302 for $40k.... not a hard decision there.

I drive a Subaru in real life but I'd still go with the Evo as the faster car, just watch Best Motoring, the EVO is usually kicking the Sooby's ass

I've seen some Best Motoring races where it was the other way around with the STIs kicking the crap out of the EVOs. It goes back and forth.

*edit* I just remembered something.... in the right setting apparently the STI is still quite fast. Here's a stock-ish one breaking a record at the Isle of Man...

oohhh yeah
You are wrong. A WRX cannot keep up with an Evo. The STi can't even keep up with the Evo. Go hang out on any Evo or STi forum and the guys will tell u that.

This man speaks the truth.

I was on 3gwrx and NASIOC.

I actually test drove the Evo X as well but ended up purchasing the WRX because of the way it drove

The car was stage 2 when I sold it. It had run into enough Evos on the daily 40 mile work commute but why should that ever count.

Anyways, sorry for threadjacking OP. I'd say the STi is much easier to drive in this game.

no, not at all, I'm just glad to see many different opinions here, whether it's about the cars in the game or in real

I'm not a fan of the AYC, seems too much like a computer assist (I guess it is one though), but I'll just tune it out using the adjustable LSDs. After this, I prefer the X because of its appearance and performance. Stock-for-stock, however, I take the Subaru because of its AYClessness (it's my word and you can't have it).

Agreed!! I hate the AYC because no matter what option I put, it seems to turn the same...
