Excitment, but disappointment....

I just got all golds finally after having the game for roughly 4 years or so. Basically wasn't really really into it when I got it. Now I can't put the damn controller down. Anyways, I just got all golds in the Amateur League and didn't really get a nice car in my opinion. What is the deal with that, I thought I'd get something sweet. Even though it is the Amateur League, it was still somewhat difficult for me just because it takes so long.

With all the different people that play this game and their likes and dislikes, I am sure it is impossible to have prize cars that make everyone happy.

I do know the feeling that you can't put the controller down. I moved a week ago and haven't had much time to play with unpacking and all. I have been seriously jonesin' for a fix.

The Viper Oreca is probably the best production-based race car in the game, with one possible exception. What were you looking for that you'd consider "sweet"?

I got something that wasn't really worth the accomplishment I guess is a better way to put it. Was looking for something unique, but I had just won the same car about 2 series races before. Something that was worth more than 8,000 cr.

The Oreca Viper is worth 250,000cr at least - it costs 1,000,000cr new.

i don't think that's what he got NeonDuke, i'm sure he'd been a little happier with the Viper.

Agreed. I think he discovered the "replay" value of GT3 and is not happy about it.

Amateur League 100% complete - Dodge Team Oreca Viper GTS-R.

My bet is he means "beginner" league - for which you get an EvoV GSR, worth 32,000ish new, so 8,000cr in your garage...

He said he just got all golds in Amateur; that's the prize for completing Amateur mode. He must not be telling us something...

And if he thought Amateur was too long, now he's got Pro to look forward to!

No kidding!

The Professional races make the Enduros look short. I am still just working on the shorter stuff like the FF, FR, MR, 4WD and Turbo races myself...I have hardly even touched the series races yet. No more doing an entire series in one sitting!

YEAH! Man, i hope they shorten up the race lengths just a tad in GT4! i know they are all about realism and all, but where i'm at now, *don't stone me!* but i dread playing the game half the time. i can't handle more than like 3 pro races in a sitting. my hands wear out!

I like the long races. It helps that I am a smoker and need to take frequent breaks to get my fix. ;)

That's nothing to be ashamed of - that's a solid hour of play at least.

Anything over 3 laps sets some people whining!

Good luck in Amateur and Pro, infinitemethod! Learn to be one with the car and let the laps flow through you like the wind through a grove of bamboo...

Or something like that. ;)

yea, that'd be my bad guys, I ment beginner. If I got the Viper I wouldn't be so disappointed hahaha. Sorry.

Who's the man? Aaaaahm the man! :D

EvoV will see you through the 4WD, Turbo and Evo races with no problem. Decent car.

It really pisses me off that you win like 4 or 5 Lancer Evolutions in the Beginner and Amateur league. I like the Evolutions, but I would really like to win something else beside them.

Oh oh oh! You're gonna just love Polyphony Digital Cup when you get there! 20 loooooooong laps for you and stock tuning normal cars only but its probably one of the most fun series I've played yet cos you really appreciate the car for its stock handling etc.

The Oreca Viper has no price in the PAL version, and can't be sold, nor bought...

A few less Lancer variants would be welcome, there seems to be an over abundance of them.

I have the distinctly unique ability to be sad enough to play games for up to 13 hours at a sitting. Race lengths seem fine to me as a result.

I did the GT All stars in the professional took me about 2 weeks with the F090/S trying to beat the GT - One for a long time.I only did the 4WD contest out of the MR and every thing like the things you said. You are really right.

In terms of replay value, I think GT3 has a lot of it :) I deleted my old game and started over and I can't put the controller down! I bronze S1-S6 before giving and restarting and i'm a MUCH better driver now:) My miata with a stage 1 turbo blew away the pack, I normally couldn't do this maxxed out (beginner league) and my stock ITR won the Type R meeting by 20 secs in some cases. I'm most likely not going to finish the beginner league, though, theres no way i'm spending cash on a Vitz.

And I do think that some race lengths are excessive. And I HATE the 5 million lap test course races.

What about that last race, "Like the Wind" I think.. that's pretty challenging squaring up something like a C4GS or C5Z06 up against that flyin' Viper. It's all about drafting; lose the draft and you're screwed:D

Yeah that pisses me off too. They could've saved those polygons for more Rufs, BMWs, and VWs (non-Beetles)...I had to wonder if Mitsubishi pumped in alot of money into the game as a sponsor to offset their poor sales
