Exhaust sound

There's a good few american cars with great sounds. The Demon is definitely up there. Both De Tomasos sounds excellent, the '69 Camaro sounds really good, especially on a semi racing exhaust, the Hellcat sounds pretty raspy too. My favourite, though not a muscle car, is the C6 Corvette ZR1. when you tune it, the pitch goes up with the revs unlike some, and it sounds insane. I've done a couple of videos for best (and one for worst) cars sounds, and the ZR1 is pretty much top of my list so far.

I forgot about that one, yes the c6 zr1 sounds incrediable even more so with upgrades.

I love most of the v12 ferraris to specially enzo, f12 and f50 they do sound better once you have more upgrades on them

GT7 does a really good job on a lot of the V12 road cars. The Aventador is another great example, though if anything the stock exhaust has a more uniquely lambo sound. The only really obvious letdown I can think of is the Aston Martin DB11.

Yes but i think the db11 sounds worse with exhaust upgrades, but with camshaft and engine balancing i think it sounds better than stock i was quite supriced my self when i tried that.

Hi all,
sorry if this has been discussed before.

First of all, i would like to note that I highly appreciate the work PD has put into the sound design. Overall I believe they made a great job. Some cars sound better than others of course.

As the PD team is obviously obsessed with details (visuals in particular), I was wondering why some cars are missing their unique sound features. Is it due to technical limitations?

What comes to mind are missing dual clutch transmission up shift „bangs“ (e.g. for all 2010s AMGs) or the typical DSG „fart“ of the VW GTI (which I own IRL). It seems like most games do not get that right…

Have you noticed any other „wrong“ or missing sounds? Maybe some PD developer is reading these forums and may get some improvement ideas for the next big update ;).

By the way, my GTI is completely stock and it really is only the upshift bangs that i am missing. Other than that they nailed it.

Thanks for your opinions.
Yeah, the only game that has that is nfs pay back with the vw gti and nfs unbound with Audi s5 and vw gti

Wow, I thought this thread was dead, and probably not many people are as interested in the sound differences compared to real life as I am.

Since this thread has been bumped, I’d like to add… the Hyundai Elantra N, which unfortunately doesn’t have the stock pops and bangs it has in real life.

After more than a year with GT7, here’s my conclusion:

I somehow believe the PD sound engineers wanted to give the sports/race exhausts a purpose beyond the small power increase. So even if a car has these crackles and burbles and pops and bangs with the stock exhaust in real life, you won’t hear them in GT7 (of course there are a few exceptions) unless you equip one of the aftermarket exhaust options.

And here are some more sound clips of my beloved 4-cylinder hot hatches ;)

A45 Facelift version, but exhaust sound is pretty much the same as pre-facelift:
