So I have a question regarding a
SeaGate ST2000dm001 3.5 inch Sata HDD (2tb) . I have two of these installed in a Buffalo linkstation that is no longer being used (nor do I want to use). My plan is to remove them and use a USB/SATA adapter cable to give my Imac some breathing room on its 1tb HDD.
My question lies in whether or not it is ok for the drives to be used in such a manner? Do they need a cooling fan of sorts or are the ok on their own? I don't plan on running them for long periods at a time, I just want to dump some of my HD Movies on there for long term storage and pull one off of it and back to my Imac for veiwing occasionally.
God Bless GTP and all of its members!

Thanks for listening!
