Ok, I'm not sure if I posted here or another forum but I searched here and found nothing. Anyway, I got this external hd case that's usb so you can make any laptop hd external. I have this extra 6gb hd, I inserted it into the case and the computer sees it but it doesn't get assigned a letter (like c: ). This is what I see when I go to Device manager and go to the properties of the drive.

Does anyone know how to make it show up? Or some kind of program to fix the drive?

Thanks

Nick

Well, see if you can't find someone who might have a laptop you could borrow. Then throw the hdd into it, and format. If you bought it new, or maybe even off ebay, it won't be formatted. If that doesn't work, check to see if the hdd is FAT32 or NTFS, because sometimes the hdd case is sensitive to the type of format the drive has.
