I would like to use my Android tablet as an extra monitor on my PC to show a dash or to adjust parameters in software like X-Sim or SimVibe. What software can you recommend?

There are apps that work with individual games and show game info.
There used to be an app that supposedly worked like a separate monitor, but it's off the store. There is another one but the ratings are pretty low and I haven't tried it.

Splashtop should have a product for that, I've got Splashtop AirDisplay for my iPad and it works ok for showing a Steam chat while I use my iPhone for SinSpeed (a remote dashboard app) and three other monitors (as long as they're in Surround mode) for the sim itself. Here's the Android version of XDisplay, which is basically the same thing: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.splashtop.remote.xdisplay&hl=en

Would be nice to try, but not compatible w/my Galaxy S3. Sucks.

I've used Idisplay on my old Droid X and on my Galaxy tab 3. Seems to work ok. Can connect through wifi or usb. I had a problem getting usb working. Eventually I did get it, not sure what I did though. lol
