Have they recently changed the online physics?
Its like driving on ice with slicks. The tyres don´t get warm.

I can´t drive the way I´ve learned in ASpec. For example
my laptime in Deep Forest is about 8 seconds faster when I drive in Practice mode than in online....

I was online for about 4 hours yesterday and did not notice anything like that, maybe check your car set-up, you may have changed something inadvertantly?

The OP is right, there is a big difference between online and offline. You especially notice in the first hours online after you do offline and especially when using a DS3.

Most of the cars that are perfectly drivable offline suddenly become unhandable monsters online.

Do you drive with driving aids? Because maybe they're just switched off in the lobby and you're just not use to it off.

When you put TC on 5 for the Zonda LM racecar there is a massive difference to when you switch it off.

I drive always with all aids off.

I just got back from online racing and now everything was normal again.Maybe it was lagging that was the problem.

I have not saw any differences. Online appears to have exactly the same grip as offline. Usually when it feels like you are on ice you have the wrong tires equipped.

I´ve made a quick test, here´s the results:

Online(my lounge) - Trial Mountain Circuit
- Recommended car: Calsonic GT-R time: 1.21.708
- My own car (same GT-R)with my offline setups: 1.26.397
- My own car everything set to default 1.21.439

Then i went back offline to drive with the same car
on the same track with my normal offline tuning setups
- and whoops my time was 1.20.027

So the difference between offline and online with the same
tuning settings was over 6 seconds....

It seems to me that I´ll have to put everything to default
when Im using my own cars online....

The only difference I can see is that tire wear is on online and then of course if damage is on. Lap times though with all things being equal are about the same. Normally mine are faster online as there is other traffic to catch some draft now and then.

A diffence of 6 seconds sounds like different selection of driving aids

As I said before I don´t use any aids in offline or online
except ABS set to 1.

Now i´ve tried a different car (GT 05) on a different track
and the result was the same.I can´t use my normal tuning settings online because the car gets too slippery, but offline
it´s 2 seconds faster than default tuning settings..

It´s lame that i cannot use online my tuning settings that I use to practice with.....

Am I right in remembering it being said that online is more realistic than in the game? (Which btw surely it should be just as realistic in both!)

But OP you are correct, I generally have no problem when racing online, I do seem to be a bit slower though, why I don't know, but I can still control my cars ok.

I do however have a big difference in my FTO Racing car thing (whatever it is lol!) on Trial Mountain at the end of the straight I brake late into third, get mid corner, no throttle, back end starts to slide ... but I don't have that offline, either way it just means I need to tweak a few settings online and run with that. Most cars are fine, my Corvette ZR-1 is brilliant on or offline for example.

I do notice a difference in the track in practice though, between low and real on the track edge setting, I just set my cars up there with real selected, not done so with the FTO so that may be the best place to fine tune your car.
