I thought of a few things to lighten the game up and push the PS and Xbox to the max!

1. Option to to let you drive to your pit crew and you manually do all th driving in the pits.
2. Fix the bugs!, I saw the pit mechanic standing in thee air!! And they should start getting the real faces, I'm tired of hearing the same voice in different teams, and everyong looking the same!
3. On special days, they should let a celebrity drive the SLS AMG as the safety car driver for the day, and the safety car driver should come out more often, and crashed out cars shouldn't just dissapear, they should bring out the safety car, and whiles doing the 3 lap course the crane and workes should remove it.
4. Show replays of all ancidents.
5. Promote sponsors for drivers helmets and gloves, like Nico Rosberg.
6. Make challenges during the seasons to unlock rewards like helmet sponsored schemes.
7. I don't know about you guys, but I think they should put a course for beginners, so they can start their first season in the go kart and F3,F2 leagues.
8. Slighteley harden the difficulty.
9. Allow you to communicate with other drivers, fans, journalists, teams etc.
10. Ability to damage parts easier like the engine and tires, and more failures like the ERS and DRS and other electrical parts.
11. Warm up laps, and victory laps for burnouts, and move yourself to the grand stands.
Add as many as you like guys

There are a few problems, despite some good ideas here.

I thought of a few things to lighten the game up and push the PS and Xbox to the max!

Good idea, F1:CE's old system was far superior in my eyes.

2. Fix the bugs!, I saw the pit mechanic standing in thee air!! And they should start getting the real faces, I'm tired of hearing the same voice in different teams, and everyong looking the same!

Not bad, it would take up their crucial development time however.

3. On special days, they should let a celebrity drive the SLS AMG as the safety car driver for the day, and the safety car driver should come out more often, and crashed out cars shouldn't just dissapear, they should bring out the safety car, and whiles doing the 3 lap course the crane and workes should remove it.

I assume that your idea is to make it more realistic, but, there is main safety car driver for all races. That won't change, and again it adds unnecessary development.

4. Show replays of all ancidents.

Not bad. I can understand that one.

5. Promote sponsors for drivers helmets and gloves, like Nico Rosberg.

The problem here is that Codemasters are trying to appeal to a vast audience, which means that there will be casual fans as well as the enthusiasts that wish to play. So getting so 'in depth' on a Career mode may put some people off.

6. Make challenges during the seasons to unlock rewards like helmet sponsored schemes.

This would require yet more licensing agreements for Codies to fulfil, and they have enough with the Classic cars and tracks as it is. I can't see it happening.

7. I don't know about you guys, but I think they should put a course for beginners, so they can start their first season in the go kart and F3,F2 leagues.

Won't happen. Codemasters are set on the perspective of you starting from the point of an already established driver that has got a shot to test an F1 car, which is enough as it is. And above with the aforementioned licensing agreements.

8. Slighteley harden the difficulty.

Makes sense.

9. Allow you to communicate with other drivers, fans, journalists, teams etc.

The post-race press conferences and interviews in the paddock were good, I do think that they would be a good re-addition.

10. Ability to damage parts easier like the engine and tires, and more failures like the ERS and DRS and other electrical parts.

Again, it becomes frustrating for the casual fan who would just like to drive around in an Formula 1 car. I'm sure the realism will be increased given the unreliability so far in the real sport this year.

11. Warm up laps, and victory laps for burnouts, and move yourself to the grand stands.
Add as many as you like guys

Warm-up laps haven't been in since 2010, so don't get your hopes too high with that one.

I assume that you're after an in-lap with this then also? The burnouts I can understand, but the ability to move yourself to the grandstands? That's a pipe-dream I'm afraid.

Well I agree on your points, but I think codies should start a blog and ask fans what they want, if a casual person wants to play f1 they should try something else, because us enthusiust fans want the feeling of the real world.

And maybe they could rather show a video of you receiving your trophy and popping the champagne, and parking your car on your #1 #2 #3 spot.
And lastly they should change faces coz everyone looks the same, and get the real faces like Toto Wolff.

I thinking I won't buy F1 2014 because of the sound of the new hybrid power units :yuck:

I don't really like that irritating V8 sound of the previous F1's but, I do love normal V8 cars like the C63 AMG, SLR McLaren, SLS AMG and the Jag XKRS and XFR. But to be honest I love the new V6's and I love them turbo sounds, beter than anything on the planet. I used to love the V10 Power Units but they get extremely annoying and I always wake up my parents at night because they're so loud. Lol.
V6 all the way...

I don't think most people would like that.
Why not?
It's a progressive career. Not just driving the same car all the time. You get to drive the classic cars and feel the difference in downforce and speed.

Maybe begin from 2004 with the V10's then 8's the 6's

I'd like more work on the atmosphere of the game world. You should feel like you're in the paddock - even if it is something as simple as an animation showing you walking from the motorhome to your garage.

There should also be a more flexible way of addressing the media and the team. It has been too easy to figure out the best responses in the past, and give them regardless of actual performances.

On top of that, there could be some staff micro-management. The more you work with your engineers, the better their performance will be, and the easier it will become to set the car up, and the faster your pit crew can be.

Most importantly, if classic content is included - and it pretty much has to be; they can't add it and then take it away - then get a better selection of circuits. Estoril and Jerez were terrible choices when we could have the old Kyalami, the old Buenos Aires, the old Osterreichring and Long Beach. And a wider selection of cars, too.

I totally agree! To add on they should improve graphic quality, and body creation. I'm black and white mix like Lewis Hamilton and just slightely darker, so it's better to select our own with game face!

I agree, makes it more immersive too 👍

A career mode where you start in the 90s and move into the 2010s

Maybe begin from 2004 with the V10's then 8's the 6's

I like both those ideas but CM will have to acquire the licenses for all the cars from those seasons. Even ones from the likes of Tyrell, Jordan, Minardi, Arrows etc. I've no idea how easy that will be considering Arrows, Minardi etc don't exist anymore.

They'll also have to design all the old circuits too! I doubt it'd be too hard for them to do but it'd take quite a while.

Maybe if they had a game dedicated to Schumacher. Follow in his footsteps or race alongside him as a teammate from 1991 to 2012.

I'd quite to see from the list above
.
1. the reintroduction of the press conferences/post race interviews
2. Parade and In Laps and park your car post race
3. Podium Celebrations

And if possible add Driver Customisation. As well as choosing helmets be able to choose the appearence of the driver to look close to yourself (a bit like FIFA's Player Creator)

But I suspect Tom is correct.

I agree although I'm 14 I do know much about F1 and I want to go back to the older F1's to see what it was like

I would like to see the continuation of the 'classic' content-preferably with more cars from the 1970's to add to the variety (with the Lotus 78 and 79 as my first preferences alongside the McLaren M23 to complement the Ferrari 312T2 ;)). I would also like to see the Tyrell P34 and Brabham BT46B, if Codemasters can obtain (or already have) the licenses to the teams.

Also, when it comes to censoring the tobacco sponsorships on F1 cars (which will happen with Williams this tim around), I'd rather see the areas where the brans are placed blank that with replaced with some symbol-like in the case of the Lotus cars:

Seriously, those wreaths look stupid tbh

Martini is actually an Italian Vermouth.

But its sold under the Martini & Rossi name, an Alcoholic brand (owned by Bacardi BTW) and as such, it'll still get censorship of some kind.

At best when Williams do have to have censors on their cars, we'll essentially see what we saw from the Bahrain Grand Prix:

It's not really something Codies have much sway over anyway. Each car model and livery has to be ticked off by the team before it goes in game so really they have no say as to how it gets censored.

More difficulty levels would be nice. I would also like to see the driver line up change over the course of a career including new drivers, and would like to be able to start at any team or create a new team altogether.

The main thing for me though is car setup. Although I know some players enjoy being able to fine tune their setup, I just don't want to have to do this exhaustively to get a competitive time, especially since the games have had some strange optimal setups. This would mean less customisation, essentially giving responsibility for setup to the engineer based on practice or testing.

Again, it becomes frustrating for the casual fan who would just like to drive around in an Formula 1 car. I'm sure the realism will be increased given the unreliability so far in the real sport this year.

Perhaps a setting could be added in game options: Damage = Basic/Realistic ?

Maybe R&D could be replaced by a staff management mini-game. You could be given a kind of tech tree, divided up into aero development, powertrain, gearbox, cooling systems and one or two other areas. As you meet goals, you get more resources to allocate, so you can choose which upgrades you develop as you develop them. This would present a challenge: do you focus on the areas you are naturally strong in, focus on areas you are weak in, try to balance the two, or simply develop the best parts for the next race?

There could also be a team manager role where you stay in the garage to direct the team. As you get more experience, the level of feedback improves. For example, to start with, engineers would only be able to guess at the available life of a power unit component to the nearest 10% - but as they get better, they can predict that life to the nearest 1%. And while you could push your team to get immediate benefits, it would wear down their morale, which would eventually make them want to leave the team, forcing you to recruit someone else. As you get more success, you get more available resources to build your team, and can eventually attract specialist staff with unique skills - but even then, they come with drawbacks; a specialist staff member might have extra skills, but recruiting them could take up two available spaces for staff in the garage.

I would like a greate role for your chief race engineer e.g. in qualifying tell you times for examples if I put in a flying lap and its to slow he could say last lap and your two tenths down, and vettell is going quicker.

And in the race some feedback like your losing time to the car infront or behind or your catching the car infront by a tenth per second etc and then when it comes time for a pit stop a screen appears and you can let them know if you want a wing change etc

I know it seems like an insignificant thing, but I'd like some more attention put into driver's helmets, such as changing helmets, like Kimi Räikkönen's James Hunt tribute helmet, or Bruno Senna's helmet to celebrate Ayrton's 50th birthday (which was at one point a selectable helmet)
I'd also like to see a Forza styled helmet editor with at least 3-4 helmet brands to choose from (Schuberth, Arai, Bell, Simpson) with a few styles (Diamondback, GP6, SF1)
The last helmet wish is the team banners on the top of the visor, and team logos/sponsors on custom helmets.

I know this may seem like a little thing, but the ability to turn off restart races in career mode. I would like to have it off as it would make you more cautious in the race knowing you cannot restart it. In FIFA they have this option and so when you lose a game, you lose. I like this much better personally and it wouldnt be hard to implement.
