Has anyone tried to drift the F1 car? I tried to drift it without much success. The main problem I have is that the R3 tires are too f--king grippy, and no NOS avail for this car. Anyone know where I can get a Shark code so I can change the tires and install nitrous? Thanks. Please just PM me if this thread is locked. 👍

No idea why you would want to use the F1 car to drift but you can change the compound of the tire in Arcade Mode.

Well, the NOS is just help me initiate the drift.

Sheron: What settings did you use for the F1 car? Are you using DFP or DS2?

Thanks.

I would imagine an F1 car has more than enough power to power drift. Try a different method for initiating drift. I did it a few times while I was racing the Formula GT. It is surpisingly stable.

It's not that it doesn't have enough power, it's the power is too smooth. I want that sudden spike to torque that nitrous provides. Think of the nitrous as clutch kick in real drifting. I also tried other ways of drifting it. Feinting doesn't really work for this car, hand-brake drift works for 90 deg corners, but doesn't work too well with the longer corners.

Don't worry as much about the tires, the big issue is the fact that the car is made to never lose traction. Yes, I've drifted an F1 car, way back, like 2 months after the game's release. Tuning the suspension is the only [real] way to drift that car. Crazy settings man, crazy settings.

Get jiggy wit' it,

When you try to get sideways the F-1, you experience the wheelspinning drift. It doesn't matter if you're on D-pad, DS2 or a wheel, there's no throttle control, you just need to floor the gas and give the right amount of coutersteering.

Settings.... just make the car too soft. Drop to the minimum springs, dampers, stabilizers and downforce. LSD: 14/41/14. And that's it.

Drifting the F-1 isn't fun at all, all happens too fast and it's very difficult to control.

Should I got crazy with the Camber and toe? Right now my settings are

Spring rate: 13/10
Ride Height: lowest (I think it's 45/45)
Damper: 8/8
Camber: 2.6/1.0
Toe:0/+1

LSD: 10/40/15

Should I use much higher camber? If so, how high? I'm thinking 2.6/5

i found it hard with no settings just turned asm and tcs off and it didn't pretty much work out i tried it on tsukuba and it did the last corner all the way >with the ps2 pad< can't afford a dfp yet >jobless...< i have a little question is it easier to use the dfp or am i just being stupid and you will say yes lol thx
