There's a thread that shows all the colors of the F1 car. Try searching for it.

The color combos can be seen on this image :

Unless you want to see the actual colors on the car .... I would take a photo of each color right now but I'm getting ready to watch Formula One. If I have time after the race I'll see if I can snap some photos.

It wasn't that bad, what other game is that mod friendly??? That is the reason those games have stay around for so long, you get tired of the F1 cars and someone makes the cam am cars or the Le Mans cars etc. Something that I would love to see for the console games.

I meant the PS2 version...no mods at all.

Nope, this isn't true, if yours is 15 down on figures posted here your using different units to whats being posted here. The fact is the F1 car never loses any power.

I'm sorry I must have just been making it up then just to scare people out of using their F1 cars so that they can become better drivers. :sly:

You base your knowledge on what? The fact that you don't have the game.

Thanks DRT2RM for the pics. I thought I read somewhere else that they weren't F1 cars, they were Japanese "Formula" cars, or something. Which would make the F1 licensed rights for Sony a moot point.

This topic was discussed a bit in a thread somewhere, but if you consider the power these cars make they can't be Japanese formula XXXX cars.

what's the fastest anyone here has run with the F1 @ Nurbugring? I know the track is probably a bit too bumpy, but it can be done... I just think it doesn't handle as well as I think it should... can anybody recommend anything?

yes also I'm surprised it has medium tires...

Stupid question: Since they carried so many cars over from GT3, why couldn't they have included the GT3 F1s, and called it a "Classic Formula" class or something?

This single F1 thing really sucks. Another car list quirk from our good ol' PD guys. Could it be that Kaz and Company have lost interest in Formula One now that Japanese engines are no longer dominant?

Another noob question>>>

where do you see the F1 under...japan?? what dealer and such...

Thank you

You don't. You can win it, but there is no dealer in Sim for the F1. But you can see your F1 car in Arcade under the Japan group of car manufactors.

It's not under any dealer...it's strictly a prize car, much like the Nike One 2022 race car...at least from what I remember...i haven't actually touched the game all day...it's in b-spec mode for one of the 24 hour endurance races. only thing i've checked in a while is my position in the race.

I saw that BLACK F1 above... can we actually buy it (rather than win it) from the used car dealer?? (like those Black GT-One, 787B etc...)

btw, my F1 had not lost any power from 8000km+ travel, and hope it won't...

how about tyres?

in GT3 they would last all of a pathetic 8 laps compared to this years F1 season where one set has to last 60.

My errr....Ahem, Co-driver has run 5:33 but he ran out of gear big time on the back straight. adusting the gearing and some other settings might help. As for me I'm not sure what I can do

You can't buy it. You win it at the Formula Gran Turismo Championship. It took me a long time. My advice is qualify first in every race. There is no difference except the colour.

You don't win it for that in the US version, only the Asian versions. I reckon the black F1 car is the 100% complete prize.

If you guys look at it closely, the c'ship is called formual GT. What tells you it's not based on a indy car? I don't think they got the license period. The don't need it, plus a F1 couldn't really race those tracks, indy is a bit more flexible. Remember that Gran Turismo means Grand Touring hence Formula GT is just getting to race a formula car(not necesseraly Formula 1) on tracks raced in GT events...

PD don't have the official F1 license, Sony does PD are owned by Sony but they arn't Sony so they don't have access to all the licenses Sony has. Theres always going to be 0 chance of that license being combined with any game bar an F1 game. Expect Sony to launch one in the nea future, possibly a PS3 launch title.

Maybe, I quit watching indy cars long ago. F1 is the only open wheels I have time to watch, and I have to DVR that. I thought they weren't even called "indy" cars anymore.

The point I meant to make was that the cars in the games bear very little resemblance to any indy car I have ever seen (though admittedly it has been a while), besides having open wheels of course.

I don't know why people can't grasp the fact that the cars are based on Formula One cars, but they are. If you think they are based on Indy cars, or Champcars, then you obviously don't know a single thing about open-wheel racing, and cannot distinguish between the three different variants.
Firstly, they are running on Bridgestone Potenza's (albeit, not grooved) and what other series runs on them? Champcars, and the car in GT4 certainly isn't Champcar based).
You can just look at them, and know they are based on Formula One cars, not anything else. Even the power output is (albeit, a little less than 2004 figures) what Formula One cars produce.
Thirdly, they're called FORMULA Gran Turismo, not Champ Gran Turismo, or Indy Gran Turismo, but FORMULA Gran Turismo.

I'm sorry, but this just really gets to be annoying after post after post, and people ignoring the facts.
Anyone who thinks they are anything BUT based on Formula One cars know nothing about open-wheel racing, and cannot distinguish the difference between F1, CART, or IRL cars.
