Anyone seen or heard anything about this game?

Its apparently a closed beta available for anyone to register for.

Theres also a trailer:

Apparently its an in browser team management style game. Uses the same tracks as F1 2011.

Did a search but the only thing that was searched for was "online" and "game", due to the three letter minimum search term.

I was all over this since the first announcement, racing sims will never be accurate enough for me driving-wise (I prefer arcader games because they correct the problem between the inability of a sim to get the physics 100% correct, and my real life skill), but a team management sim floats my boat very well. Can't wait.

I've been and done the Batracer thing, but it's just way out of the ballpark for accuracy, however I have great faith that F1 Online will deliver, despite codemasters. I believe that graphics matter less in a management game, so codemasters has plenty of clean air to run in as far as I'm concerned.

Are you in the beta you mean? I'm really interested in hearing impressions. If it's like B-Spec, that makes me pretty excited.

I can't tell you anything there is an NDA. Sorry.

No, this is the first time I've seen any news of this. I was just thinking that I'd like to see a much deeper B-spec mode in future GTs with stuff like the management and franchise building.

I was thinking much the same, it would be really cool.

I don't know why they didn't just make it a management game. It's all good until you get to the driving.

Except that it's got a lot of people who ram others off track... :grumpy:

True, but since I use a mouse pad I'm always at the back of the pack.

They should've, it'd be way better. The racing's frustrating and is nowhere near as fun as the race hub (imo).

You can actually get to the front of the bunch of racers! It's only the fact that somebody will eventually ram you out. Also, the control is a bit tricky, and anybody who don't usually use the mouse for driving would easily crash or run-off.

I managed to get to pole once - only to be overtaken and finish a couple places down :grumpy:
(Thinking of this, it may actually be my fault, as I crashed into countless walls )

Started playing it yesterday. I liked both the management and the racing. It's a bit laggy and some people ram you off the track but overall I liked it.

If you want a good management-only F1 game you should try www.igpmanager.com, which I play as well.

Just started playing igpmanager, pretty nice. Better than F1 Online in my opinion (though I think they're targeting different audiences).

This would be an awesome browser game if it just had controls with the arrow keys. The point and click controls with the mouse are so frustrating and killing all the fun...

The controls on this I think are awful. I can't control the car it never goes where I point the mouse.

^ Nope still hate it.

All it takes to solve it would be arrow key controls arghhhhhhh.

I signed up for the closed Beta but couldn't make the sessions, however just tried the open beta with the brief driving tutorial, seemed kinda fun though hard to control (didn't know you can use W & S, that will be better)

However afterwards, when it invited me to sign up to save my game etc. it said my email is invalid? But I used a simple hotmail address, (name)@hotmail.com and furthermore it's the same email address they sent the invitation to the betas to in the first place. So how is that invalid? Surely it doesn't refuse web-based email addresses? Anyway might try again in a few days but if that's not fixed, i'm done with it.
