F1

Sorry guys, but a similiar post may of been posted before this and I'm sorry if there was, but I looked and searched and didn't find one... So maybe there wasn't.

My main question is: I just won a F094/H and If you look at the stats and compare it to the F094/S, they are pretty much the same, with the same RPM's but the 94/H has more HP than the 94/S. If that's so, why do people still prefere the 94/S over the 94/H?

Besides that: What's you favorite F1. (This is the question I'm afraid may become a repeat--sorry ahaid of time)

dont know about the NTSC versions but my fave F1 is the Polyphony 001 which i think is pretty close(or the same car) to the F094/s

There is something indescribable about how and why the F094/S is better than the F094/H. To know the answer you would have to ask a GT3 programmer because only they know what they did differently on it.

If you go to any websites with record lap times for GT3, all of the top laps are set by either the F094/S or the Polyphony 001 (which are the same car). The F094/H doesnt appear on the record lap lists until about the top 20 or 30 fastest lap times. So there is obviously something worse about it. I am not sure about the Hp being different. have you changed the oil on both, without burnign up the engine in some long series or anything?

The "S" stands for the driver, Ayrton Senna in this case, so the "H" is for Damon Hill. As you know Senna died in 1994.
With the other F1 cars it is the same. "M" means Nigel Mansell, what else is there?
So, here you go.

That has absolutely nothing to do with his question - thanks!

how many f1 in gt3?

Here is the NTSC listing - looks like six different cars.

Alright. Well, right now I have three F1's: F090/S, F687/S, and the F094/H. Out of the last two, which should I use? (The 90/s doesn't count cause it's pretty damn crappy...)

F094/H ... it's the second best car in the game.

F094/H
F687/S

Formula 1
Number of cylinders - 0 = 10, 6 = 6
Year
Driver's initial - Eh, look it up.

Formula 1 went from 6 cylinder turbos to 10 cylinder naturally aspired in the late 80s / early 90s (I'm not really sure when). So the cars with bigger engines don't have turbo. Generly the turbo cars will get off the line quicker and accelerate out of a corner quicker. However, the NA cars have a cleaner power curve, more power through a turn, and theoretical higher top end speed. They're newer, they should perform better.

I am sure that anyone would click off faster laps in the F090/S over the F687/S. In my opinion, the F687/S is the worst F1 in the game. It sure doesn't feel like 923hp. The F686/M has 972hp and feels the quickest, although lap times show that the F094/S is indeed the fastest car in GT3. The F094/H is not quite as good ( as the F094/S), and as I said earlier, I dont know why. The F090/S has less power than the others, but its handling is good enough to give better lap times than the F687/S or F688/S (according to my testing).

The F686/M is my favourite, even though I'd be the first to admit it isn't as fast as either the F094/S or /H. My first F1 was the F090/S and I think its handling is on par with the F094/S and it would do similar lap times if it weren't for its engine which lacks 104hp under its closest competition.

The NA 3.5L V10's are much better engines than the Turbo 1.5L V6's. Probably because the cars they are in are newer.

So that is the guide to the F1's. The only one I didn't really mention is the F688/S, and that is because it represents the neautral middle ground of performance between the best and worst F1's. There isn't anything astonishing or disapointing about it at all. Although it doesn't feel like 829hp. More like 700hp.

To loud music:
It has. Maybe some people prefer a former Senna F1 car because he was the best driver. So people could be faster because of the history of that car. Sounds a bit psycho but we are all enthusiasts, aren't we?

You know when you guys get a F1 car? Do you guys tweak it up right away, or do you tend to leave it in stock? I've tried tuning soem of my other cars, and I'm pretty bad at it...

Anyway, for my F094/H, I think it doesn't turn fast enough causing it to not be able to make some of the fair turns without having to brake. I used a F687/S for quite a while until I won the 94/H and when you compare the two, the 687 turns considerably easier than the 94/H. So I was wondering if you guys could provide some tuning tips that would help my car turn better. Thanks

To clarify, F1 started using Turbocharged engines in 1977 along with ground effects, although those engines were really quite weak, and suffered badly from Turbo-lag.

It wasn't until 1983 that the Turbo engines really started to gain power, most noticably with BMW's 1.5L 4-cylinder that pumped out around 1400hp in qualifying trim.

At the beginning of the 1989 season, Turbocharged engines were banned, thus ending the glorified Turbo Era, which was dominated by Honda in the late 80s, and Naturally Aspirated engines were mandatory. Teams could opt for either 3.5L V10s or 3.5L V12s (which they still can, but no one uses them because the fuel mileage and weight would not be satisfactory) (Ferrari took the V12 option in 89 and the early 90s), the engines could have no forced induction of any kind.

I know this was irrelevant but I know a fair amount about F1 and couldn't keep quiet :p

Back to the game, like I said in another thread, I wish PD had made a car called the F483/P, which would have been the 1986 Brabham BT52B with the Turbocharged 1.5L BMW 4-cylinder pumping out a whopping 1400hp in qualifying trim with over 85PSI of Turbo boost  That would be so nice in this game :D After all that car was THE pinnacle of the Turbo era.

I personally think PD made the "S" variant of this car faster on purpose, as a tribute to Senna, and made the "H" a bit slower, on purpose, as most F1 fans know, Hill was definitely no where near as fast a driver as Senna was, I mean even Michael Schumacher isn't as fast in qualifying as Senna was, considering Senna's number of pole positions still hasn't been beaten, and I don't think it will be, and don't think I'm being biased, because I'm a Schumacher fan :)

Anyway, sorry for the rants, but that's just my take on it :)

I started following the McLaren team because I like McLaren F1's street and LM cars. :-) DC is cool...I like his personality...

Especially when he had that nice gesture for Shuey. lol!

Hey man, than's for the F1 engine clairification. I have to agree with you on the 4 Cyclinder Turbo - that would have been an interestng twist in GT3. I wonder what they have planned for GT4 as far as the "big cars" go. I'd like to see the current GT class cars stick around, like the GT-One, R390, and the 787B. I think the Formula 1 cars are interesting and a lot of fun. Really I just want more of the same (: More volume of cars, more volume of tracks, more options for game style ... more more more!

No problem LM, glad to help

Yeah I think that would have been nice too, but hey, if I knew how to make hybrids I could just take an F686/M and put the 1350hp Toyota GT-ONE engine in :D

Hybriding looks so good, but so complicated :(

Oh and here's that pic

Damn that's classic...

No bash on you or Ferrari, but I can't stand Schuey!

My bestfriend is a HUGE F1 fan and he lives in Indy...he goes to the race in Indy every year. He's Scottish and loves DC...and got me in to F1. When I first got in Jos and the Orange Arrows team were my favorite...(can't BELIEVE he's driving for Minardi now:odd: :irked:  :banghead: ) I started liking him because my heritage is Dutch...and Jos is Dutch...also I love the Orange Arrows car...so when my friend and I would play our F1 game and race each other...we, of course, would talk a lot of s***...and I came up with the name "Jos VerNOTStappen" LOL:lol:

I like DC...Kimi...Jos...and Montoya...

Favorite teams are McLaren and Toyota...and respect Williams and Ferrari.

Hate the Schueys though...sorry. lol

:)
