F2007 is a bit more forgiving handling wise and it seems to be quicker even in a stock setup.

Here's a question: Does it matter?

I'm not being flip; I'm serious. Reason I ask is, I've got the F2007. When I enter the SE with it, I'm up against ONLY F2007s. Not a single F10 to be found. I've run them all a couple times now, and it's consistent.

So if I had the 2010 model, would I be running against ONLY the 2010 cars as my competition?

Yep, it turns into a 1 make race regardless of which Ferrari is used.

The 07 would be faster, it has a V10, bigger wings, shorter wheelbase. 2010 cars are designed to be slower in the rules for safety, no refuelling in '10 so the engines have to run leaner/be more fuel efficient and for the motors to last more than 1 race although the teams development has already overcome allot of these regulations by finding more speed in other areas. Things like F duct and flexible rear wings (allegedly).

F2007:
Monaco qualifying (Q3) - 1:15.726
Brazil qualifying (Q3) - 1:11.931

F10:
Monaco qualifying (Q3) - 1:14.283
Brazil qualifying (Q3) - 1:15.989

The F2007 was faster than the F10 in Brazil, but slower at Monaco. This is based on the real-world cars and races, and not from the game obviously (as there is no Brazil in GT5).

EDIT:
Spain:
F2007 Q3 - 1:21.421
F10 Q3 - 1:20.937

The F10 was slightly faster in Spain than was the F2007.

Full slicks probably had a major impact on this more so than anything else I would guess. '07 wasn't full slicks, F10 is.

Your Monaco 2007 time is wrong, Massa's fastest lap was 15.967 on a wet track. You should mention the wet time and the fact that the 2010 quali ran on the new layout with the resurfaced braking areas around the harbour.

When you take those things into consideration the cars (IRL) would have run much closer times on the same day.

For Brazil 2010 you also have to take account of the fact that Ferrari were wrong-footed by the pace at which the track changed during quali. Alonso's 15.9xx would certainly have been a 13.9xx (at highest) if he'd gone out at the same time that Hulkenberg produced his first career pole of 14.4xx.

Lap times are black and white... and they can't always be used to give accurate comparisons :D

In game... the F60 is prettier than F2007 but overall the F2007 delivers better lap times.

I thought those slicks shouldn't have an actual effect on the handling..as they are all "racing hards" & "racing softs", etc. They just visually differ, I think.

Most (not all) F1 teams started using the V8 in 2006 by the way, so the F2007 has a V8, not a V10.

Which one is faster. And better handling.

After comparing both cars in back to back test runs, I find the F10 to have a bit lower overall speed, but better handling than the F1 2007. The test runs were done with everything set to default, so each car was as it is if just bought from the dealership.
The 2007 needs to be tweaked in order to control it at speed, while the F10 seems more stable.

I own the F10 and it's okay. I wish it could be a little faster with a little bit more tight cornerning. I hvent driven the 07 because I just can't buy it so I cannot comment on it. The F10 was pretty easy to use on the last seasonal race on the road course. I do wish I had the 2007 to race thr burg and tokyo with.

there both usless anyway you cant do any offline ( aspec) races so there really for there occasional seasonal events and offline.

One thing I noticed was the F10 has a really disconcerting vibration of the steering on my G25 when when approaching Shumacher-S and Veedol. It was very hard for me to keep it on track at the S as it is at a a very high speed and the wheel was vibrating like crazy. Since

Didn't happen with F2007 as well as on other tracks with F10.

I found the F10 to be a lot faster then the f2007 on the top gear test track, and i find the rear to be more planted.
