I am having a very rough time in the initial Italian Series with the stock F430 Challenge Series.

Are there any specific settings which I need to change to optimize the car.

I have lost every race by a large margin and getting frustrated.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have never bothered with any "tuning". What difficulty level are you playing on? If you're playing on one of the easier settings then you should be able to finish in the top three. If not, it means you don't know the tracks well enough yet. Keep practicing ...

Hello:) have original setting. VIS you certainly want to tune a little, so Hev or lower the car behind, but not much. And fc is knowledge about how to run. Heligheten lies in how careful you are with the gas and brake. there is much there to get. sorry for mine baaad ENG......

You should be able to win races with the stock set-up for the car. I think that I lowered the car and stiffened the dampers and springs.

First check the difficulty level. The default is dynamic. I started with easy. That should be much better.

Next play with the assists. If you are running with them all off try increasing them a bit. If they are all maxed try lowering them. I originally tried racing with them all off but I found that a little SC did wonders in preventing the AI from spinning me out.

Do you have the driving line on and how well can you follow it?

Finally, the AI takes a little getting use to. Go out of your way to not hit the AI. They are more aggressive if you hit them. Learn good areas to pass them. For instance on many high speed turns they over brake allowing you to get around them easily.

I never found it necessary to use tuning, racing line, assists or any other aids - you just need to know the tracks reasonably well to beat the AI on "Easy". One thing to bear in mind, however, is that the AI cars always take the inside line, so drive outside them on corners, don't try & cut inside them.

Hang in there dapreston. I felt the same way you did at first. As Biggles said get to know the tracks,no subsitute for that. The physics are a lot different than some other games, it thru me off real bad at first. As Biggles again said it models weight transfer much more than say GT5P ,once you get accustomed to it you will cream AI on easy. I have unlocked 6 trophys this week, including a pole pos in Italian, Hot Shot for 75% in all catagorys in tutorial. Dont give up.👍

Is there a way to make the F430 challenge series races shorter? 15 minutes each race is a bit too long I think.

If you go in to Options you can adjust the length of the races, but I can't remember if that applies to the Challenge series. it's not a bad idea to run longer races when you're learning the tracks, in any case. It gives you more time on the tracks & you can increase the difficulty of the AI if you're finding it too easy.

Ok, thanks for your help. Just starting to play it more often. Getting fairly fast now.

One thing I have found that helps is to set the front dampers to hard, stops the nose from diving down under braking.

As some have said there is no subsitute for knowing the tracks and knowing them well. The F430 will NOT reward you for over pushing, keep momentum up tire sliding to a miminum.

Yes, in options you can change the Challenge races length. What you can't change is the Trophy races length (these are 10 minutes races).

Ok, got it. Thanks for your help.👍 When I get all the cars i'll race you guys.

I've noticed that pushing hard doesn't reward you. You need to be smooth, a lot harder than GT5P but it is an excellent game.

Well, that is what I've been suggesting in my "How to drive fast thread". I don't find it harder than GT5P - I think it's just that you are obviously a very fast & experienced driver in GT5P & are much less experienced in FC. To me, the big difference between the two games is that in FC you can actually FEEL the cars leaning over & the tire grip starting to go, so that you can FEEL when to back off a bit. In GT5P you need to KNOW through experience (& the squealing tire sound) - there's very little FFB feel.

OH Great now I can be 3 laps down. LOL Just Kidding mad94d, I know very quickly you will be challenging Biggles & Enygeria and others for the top in FC.
I Look forward to watching you dissapear in the horizon, having never raced you in GT5P.
