I got this as a free rental on Saturday and haven't been able to stop playing it. When I first started playing I thought that I would lose interest pretty quickly but after the 1st chapter I was amazed at how much there is to do.

Can't wait to get home from work.

Glad you are enjoying it. I find the same thing happens to me. I start playing this and I simply cant put it down. I started a 3rd hero last week to see the 3rd ending. I only have about an hour into the new hero but once I start playing again I know it will consume hours of my time. So I am trying to get through a few rentals before I put Fable 2 in again.

I knew that you could replay through as the girl, but are you saying that there's another hero to through with aswell?

You can play as a good male, evil male, good female, evil female. If you want to get technical you could play through as 8 different heros if you want to include if each one is corrupt or pure. :sly:
1. Good / pure male
2. Good / corrupt male
3. Evil / Pure male
4. Evil / Corrupt male
5. Good / pure female
6. Good / corrupt female
7. Evil / Pure female
8. Evil / Corrupt female
I listed in post #44 the heros I will be.

Looks like I'm going to be very busy over thr Christmas period. One thing I noticed is that I'm having trouble finding a higher damage weapon. I've been using the Katana which I think has a damage range of around 60-70. It hasn't failed me yet as most of the enemies I have fought haven't been much trouble. I just want to be prepared as some of the bounty hunter missions are going to get a bit more tricky.

Oh yeah this game can keep you busy for a very long time. As you progress through the game you will get better weapons. Just keep visiting every weapon person and blacksmith. It also depends if you are good or evil. If you are evil it will be much harder to find better weapons. But if you are good and lower the rent at the blacksmith then you can get some very good weapons. Especially if the blacksmith likes you. The better the economy and the happier the people are, the better the weapons will be. 👍

I haven't purchased the blacksmith yet although I have completed all the job promotions. I've got a spare 40,000 gold so I'll buy a few more shops tonight. I remember hearing about a shooting range in one of the loading screens so I'm going to head there and see what it's all about. Forgot to mention the aweomeness of having a dog especially when you knock an enemy down and he starts tearing them apart.

Start buying properties right away because even when you are not playing Fable 2, you will still be making money. So that means the next time you turn your 360 on you will have instant incoming cash. I didnt load my good male hero for about a week and had over 1 million. 👍
Also another hint is after you buy a property make sure you lower the rent or price by -25%. It will help the economy, make you pure, and will make everyone happy which results in better everything.
Yes having a dog is fun because you always have someone with you.
Oh did you turn on all of the orbs yet for real life people? YOu go to options then set the orbs to everyone and anyone in real life thats in your area will appear as an orb. Then you can hear them talking and interact with them if you want.

I got a bloody great Axe as soon as I could, when combined with levelling up your Speed it has a nice balance between damage and speed, it's not as slow as a hammer but not as fast as a katana or a sword, yet it offers 99.0 damage and IIRC it doesn't cost too much either!

I second the idea of buying property and renting it out though, go for the big bucks and ignore the stalls until you have spare cash, they only bring in a little bit of money whereas houses bring in loads.

Of course you could just get loads of properties and then set the 360's clock forwards by a few years and have all the money you ever wanted but that's not much fun!

I'm decently far into the game I think. I've already finished "The Crucible" mission a few times. I've already gone to "The Spire" as well. Anyhow, now I can't load my character. Each time I load up the game I can't get past the Westcliff loading screen. I'm really upset about this. I don't want to have to start all the way over. I may end up having to since nothing I've tried has fixed the problem and Lionhead has done squat about fixing the freezing issues.

Too many glitches in this game.

MAYBE SPOILER below

-Lady Gray disappearing act
-Get stuck in Archon's Knot
-Duplicate items in inventory
-Cant change pocket money for your wife
-Duplicate your wife when moving houses
-Make your kid a pointless npc
-Fat woman disappear
-Dog will get stuck in water when swimming
-Your guy will get stuck in swimming animation, you can go onto land but your arms will be flailing around like an unco
-Time freeze
-Frozen character after beating the game
-Memory wipe when back from Spire
-Screw up your house if youre married to a bisexual and take gender potion

Apparently there is 1 in 4 chance that your game will experience one of these glitches.

Let's attempt this again, shall we?

Fable 2: Knothole Island DLC available January 13

Lionhead Studios has announced the, delayed for technical reasons, downloadable content for Fable 2 will be available on January 13. Fable 2's Knothole Island (800
microsoftpointslogosmall.gif
) will add new quests, items and shops to the Game of the Year award winning world of Albion.

For those who do not plan on picking up the extra content, Lionhead has also revealed a new title update will be available on the same day, which we all hope will finally cure the game of its own STDs (or bugs if you want to be PC about it).

Barring it does actually get released next Tuesday I will be buying it for sure.

I have not had a chance to play Fable 2 since I got Fallout 3 for Christmas. I will buy the DLC for Fable 2 for sure when it is finally released.
As for the reply about glitches. I have not seen any major glitches at all in Fable 2.

Indeed.

I will definitely be downloading such later today.

I haven't turned on Fable in a while. I must have all the wealth in Albion by now.

;)

I have been so addicted to Fallout 3 that I have not put Fable 2 in for at least 2 weeks. I also bet I have quite a bit of money for all 3 of my heros.

It's been at least a few months for me. Burnt out on Fable and Fallout.

Should be interesting to see how much money I have, or if there is a financial cap.

;)

I just got Fallout 3 for christmas so I have only had it a couple weeks. I currently have over 77 hours into Fallout 3 just since christmas on my 1st playthrough. I still want to go through as evil too.

there are 2 downloads, one is free and one is 800 points.

You could get through the DLC quests in probably an hour. Overall it was a huge disappointment for 800ms points ($10.00). Just get the free DL and play as a co-op with someone else. Save your money and dont buy the premium.

I was really hoping for more houses or property to buy but from what I have seen you only get a few things to buy maybe 6 or 7 total. I thought for sure there would be another huge castle or something. Oh well. I also had a lot of problems trying to play the island as a co-op. It was the first time I had seen major problems playing Fable 2. The co-op on that island was almost impossible to enjoy.

In order to start up a new character do you have to create a brand new profile on the HD or can i slap it in under my original profile?

I think it kinda sucks that you can't have armor whatsoever. At least a leather breast plate would have been nice. Or is that armor i see in the picture featuring the Knothole glade DL?

You just start a new profile and the next time you go to load it will allow you to pick which profile you want to play. I currently have 3 heros that I can load at any time.
I believe there is some sort of metal armor on knothole island. But I am not positive. It sais "Try on a whole new range of outfits and look like an armoured knight, an assassin, a barbarian or a leather-clap"

you can already be an assassin, what a rip off...

you can get the assassin outfits from the travelling salesmen.

I Dl'ed the free Knothole Island, but can't find any submariner on the docks in Bowerstone! What gives, is it because I got the free version?

You have to DL the premium version of Knothole island to go there by yourself. But if you have the free version then you will have to join someone else that is there as a co-op.

For those that dont know there is another DLC pack for 560ms points called See the Future.

Fable 2 DLC "See The Future" is available for 560ms points. Well worth the purchase. Adds new missions and you can change your dog to a dalmation, husky, or bloodhound. Also adds new creative achievements which add the most replay value from the DLC. One achiev is for 25 groin shots. Another is for making love 25 times. lol You also have to battle in the Colosseum which is brutal difficult even with a maxed out character.
Well worth the 560ms points especially for only 560ms points. :)👍

Much more replay value than the Knothole Island DLC.

I played the first two parts of See the Future, and thought it was decent. I then finished the main quest and thought the added STF quest was brilliant, if technically not a quest. I'm glad it also possibly hints towards more content or Fable 3.

I love the Royal Marine/Legionare suit you can get (a la the 'Sharpe' series on TV'). The Royal Suit is nice aswell, time for me to play the game more to get Fairfax Castle finally.
