We used the wood chopping for the majority of money, it was when we already had most of the Master weapons and abilities etc. that we did it to test the theory, we already had an income at that point and the effects were large.

It's not my style either, I wouldn't do it on my own game were it mine (not on my first time through at least). But when you reach the end of the game there isn't a huge benefit bar saving alot of time.

In any game I play I try to make the money legit so it truly feels like I earned it. Spending hours at the blacksmith, chopping wood and buying property are all good enough for me. Plus it makes the game last a lot longer since you work for the money.
I wont read the spoiler but if you need money there are plenty of people online that are just willing to give money away. At times you will see up to 18 orbs and they are real people. Just ask outloud if you truly want money and people online can be quite generous.

I have yet to see any orbs (that I know of). Do you have to be in a certain part of the game before you have orbs floating around? Curious....

You have to go to your Fable 2 settings and set the options to:
1. Friends
2. Everyone
3. No one
Sounds like it might be set to no one or friends only. Believe me as soon as you turn on everyone and go to the marketplace you will easily see 15-18 orbs floating around and people talking. Instantly makes it feel like a real world. Each orb will have that persons gamerpic as a little orb. Last night I saw a little 69 Camaro floating around and figured out it was one of my friends on my friends list. It was his gamerpic with his real life 69 Camaro. I usually see lots of Obama orbs. :)

I'm also having a blast with this game.... Very addictive. I'm all about buying as much property as possible. Up to about $2200 of rent/shop income now and a level 5 bartender, go figure. Once I don't have to worry about my finances, I'll forge on and complete some quests. I haven't tried any online play. It was a cool touch going to the Fable website, going through their little play and having those prizes show up in the treasure chest at the guild. Very cool. Also like making money while the console is off. It makes me wonder throughout the day how much money I'm making. The first think I do when I get home is turn on Fable II and check my new income. :D

Indeed.

I've become quite addicted (and so has my girlfriend). I've only completed about 6 missions, but I own every shop and home in Bowerstone, Oakfield, and the Gypsy camp. I make about 15k every 5 minutes. Everytime I turn on my Xbox to play Fable II I have at least 200k more in the bank.

Level 5 Bartender, Woodcutter, and Blacksmith.

I have 3 wives (keep them separated!) and no kids (yet).

This time I've gone the good route. I'll try out the female and go bad next play through.

The only thing bugging me is getting blocked in a doorway by fans. You should be able to nudge people out of the way if they're blocking your path.

Also, the social aspects of the game are pretty weak. Just dance around and give gifts and you're everyone's best friend. They should have added a bit more depth to the social interactions.

Oh, and if anyone is wondering how to lose weight. Eat celery as often as it is available. If you're impatient, buy all the celery from the Bowerstone market, eat it, go to your house and sleep for 7 days, repeat as needed. I had a few too many pies and found myself quite the porker. It took me 6 times using the formula above to get back down to fighting weight.

;)

I also noticed the problem with fans following you which can result in blocked doors and sometimes backing you into corners.

Funny you mention about the celery. Heather was buying pies, meat, and everything without paying attention to the fat. After a few battles she noticed her character was very fat. So fat that she even earned the title "salad dodger" lmao. So now I told her to just buy celery and anything with 0 or - fat count. Now after a lot of work she lost a lot of the weight. She is still a bigger girl because of all the muscle but at least she is not a "salad dodger" anymore. One of the town guests even mentioned something to her about "You sure love to eat dont you?" lol! Its even more funny because in real life Heather is very small.

My girlfriend Sarah (known on these forums as "rvlashn") was very excited to hear about the weight loss trick. She's gained quite a bit of weight (in the game...HaHa) and was bumming out about it. You do lose a few months of in game time to lose the weight fast, but it seems worth it.

;)

Been playing this since release day, so addictive!

Currently doing the quest for 'The Thief' so he'll join me, got far too much gold which is stupidly easy to come by once you own everything and max out the rent (yes, I'm very corrupt xD) so I've been buying all the properties and getting some achievements completed.

Loving the introduction of guns, as at first I didn't think it would work but they've implemented them perfectly with crossbows being included, which were a favourite of mine in Fable 1.

My favourite feature though by far has to be the dog, what an amazing creation! The fact that they've made an AI that works is astounding and I've only had 2 issues with the dog so far, one by being cornered and the other by the dog getting stuck on something, but were simple enough to sort. They've done a great job on creating the emotional attachment to the dog and as I'm sure Lionhead wanted, I could never run off and leave it for dead.

I'll no doubt be running around Albion a lot more in the future...

Well...it's done. I've finished the game. I didn't know I was at the end, still have keys and gargoyles to find as well as countless other side quests I'm sure. At 13,500g every 5 minutes, I'm waiting for enough Gold for Castle Fairfax. Only another 200k to go. I guess I could go through it again with a different alignment for some replay, but I can't believe it's over. Great game though, I really enjoyed it.

Did you ever figure out how to get the real life orbs to work?

Yeah, yeah.... I had it set to friends only, but never saw any. Set it to ALL and holy cow, there were orbs everywhere. :D Not disclose any spoilers, but I have found more to do after I bought the Fairfax Castle. That is all I will say.

I only got this game a few weeks back and I'm currently playing through the main quests with a wife on the side, and levelling up on the jobs at the same time. Gonna start getting some real estate on the go soon. :D

I played for 7 straight hours yesterday being evil. My guy has horns and his body has scars and pieces of flesh missing from battles. Plus he is all grey and bloody looking. My dog is all black with red eyes. :trouble: It is much harder getting through the game being evil.
So now I have a profile for good and a profile for evil and both are making money while I sit here at work. :sly:

It's been a few weeks since I've picked up Fable II. I should be swimming with money by now.

Completed this the other night, I'm now working towards getting 100% while playing through the game as an evil lesbian on another profile. ;)

Pretty well completed all the misc side quests the other day that remain after finishing the main story. Alas I was kinda let down by the reward for shooting the 50 gargoyles. So I went ahead and peaked on gamefaqs about the reward for 50 silver keys and decided it definitely wasn't worth the effort. Also with all the real estate I own now money has become a non-factor, the other day I inserted the game to find about 800,000 gp added to my total. Makes you wonder what the gp cap is in the game? 10,000,000... 100,000,000... higher?

Nice!!! I lost my game save when my 360 crashed so I probably won't try the evil for a while.... It's too discouraging to loose all that data from all that work. Your evil guy looks cool though, and it's inspiring to see! :D

Sorry to hear about your gamesave loss Pako. I do have good news for you. The pics you see above are from starting a 2nd hero (evil) from scratch and it only took about 7-8 hours to get to that point. So basically once you play the game the 2nd playthrough goes extremely fast. It wont take you long to get back to where you were. I will probably play through this game several more times. I just cant get enough of it. :sly:
I havent loaded my "good" hero in about a week. I bet I have at least 3-4 million on that account. :dopey:

I updated post #44 with pics of my "good" male and "evil" male hero. I still plan on making "good" and "bad" female heros.

this game pissed me off the other night so i quit playing for awhile lol
What happened? I cant imagine anything happening in this game to make someone angry. If you had a problem you should have called me or send me a PM.

i bought the mansion and then i had to go down in the basement and fight a bunch of guys, then i got to this part with these things you have to shoot to unlock doors. i got past the first one but the 2nd one was harder, i tryed for hours to get past it but i got frustrated and quit. now i have to do it all over :grumpy:

Oh yeah that switch you have to shoot in the castle can be tough because you have to do it really fast. That switch is the hardest part of the game. Did you save while down there? You can save at any point in the game and it will load from that point. Its best to save all the time or before you do any event just to be safe.

i didnt save, i have to start from the bed where it tells you to sleep.
Yeah bro just like with any other game, you want to save as often as possible. Luckily Fable 2 actually lets you load directly where you save. So every time you make progress make sure to save. 👍

Oh wow awesome!! We can play WAW this weekend. You should try to get through the single player campaign in WAW so we can play zombie mode. You can beat it on any difficulty to unlock zombie mode. 👍
The Orange box is also a very good purchase.

if i have time i will play it, cant wait to see HL2 in HD.
Oh yeah it looks a lot better. The best looking one is Episode 2. Its stunning how good it looks in HD. If you play in order of Half Life 2, Episode 1, Episode 2 you will really appreciate it. But I was blown away at how awesome Episode 2 is. Epic game for sure especially at the end of Episode 2.
