Something I have been thinking about for a while.. When you visit the Modern / New car dealer on the game, you get several factory colour options that will instantly be applied to your vehicle once a choice is made. I know that doing it this way can change the interior colour, creating a certain combination for every colour. However, this opens up access to just a few interior options, with most being ignored. I'm someone who enjoys cruising, I like to appreciate the work gone into the interior of the car, both by PD and the manufacturer. I also like to be unique, but not in a way that involves me modifying my supercars, in any way..

Let me explain what I'm talking about.

The Lamborghini Aventador, a car which is roaming into GT5 very shortly, has 4 main interior options, each with a variety of colours. There is also a sub option, asking if you would like Leather, or Alcantara.

Etc..

After selecting a colour, another menu would approach. Indicating what fabric, colour, and option you would like on your car. An interior tile would look something like this, in the same way that the indication of a cars colour is shown on a tile..

The same could work with wheel options and colours. I myself, personally don't like the wheels of the Gallardo LP560-4. And when purchasing this car new in the real world, you would be given a choice. They would demonstrate a few cars before you find something your happy with..

There are also the options of additional carbon fibre parts when buying such a car, depending on the model.

What do you think?

Theoretically it'd be a simple retexturing job, and yes, that would be cool.

I'd much rather be able to choose between different manufacturer wheels though.

That is also part of the idea, but I focused this thread on colour.

It'd be a nice feature but I'd prefer PD to focus on other things first.

I like the idea of factory options but if they were to do this, I hope they also give exterior options..

I have always wanted the choice of interior colour. It sometimes pains me when a particular colour comes with an interior shade I do not want. I thought I could respray my car and have the combination I wanted but the interior sometimes changes when you respray. It would be a nice feature for GT6.

There are areas I would much rather see PD focus on in future GT5 updates than this though such as getting me my Audi R18 TDI...

Instead of making every single car version/trim as a "separate" car (though it really isn't) I've always thought that PD should increase the number of options when purchasing a car (which would eventually also modify in some way the final model name), like what happens on real car configurators on manufacturer's websites.

At least they could give us the option to choose from the interior trims they've already modelled. There are some cars in the NCD whose interior colour varies depending on the paint colour you choose. Why not allowing us to pick interior colour given that they've already modelled it? Simple to implement and would open the way for a lot of customization options.

Option's between the engines available for the model. This would squash most peoples complaint's of no engine swap's. Would take time though but would easily turn 800 different car's into 3,000 (est) and each engine would be unique as they have different characteristics. Would only be number plugging (weight, weight distribution, torque curve, power curve... sound).

This is something I’ve thought about well ago. I liked the idea of reproduced original factor brochures and being able to look through and select each option as it’s changed in the car view next to it in game. Doubt it’s coming anything soon.

I want to know why, when I rip everything out of my car to make it track suitable, I can still see a leather dash and rear seats.

I would prefer simple interior options like changing the color of the seats and dash and that would be it. Using factory interior options would be too time consuming, (have you seen the interior options for the McLaren MP4-12C?), so I'd rather like to see Kaz spend more of his time on things like RMs and stuff. Cool idea though. :D

The only game which addresses this issue, as far as I can remember, is Shift.

Optional extras available from the premium car dealership 💡 Something I've been going on about since Prologue.

Just add pallets underneath the color chip pallet for choosing wheels, interior texture, and brake caliper colors.

Perhaps, also a paint option. The Aventador can be bought in a solid colour, or gloss, or matte. All standard colours, GT5 often misses these.

Yes sir, saw a Gallardo IRL today with black wheels:drool: and I can truly say, I want other stock wheels for my Gallardo. 👍

Some cars come with mattes, like the LFA. Overall I'd love the idea of picking the interior.

Not a bad idea but I'd rather be given the option of purchasing either left or right-hand drive car when buying a premium model. I can't stand the fact that many if not most Japanese cars are modeled as right-hand drive.

It bugs me even more when European (non-English) or American cars are right-hand drive.

Something like a car configurator before buying the car would be so sweet! :D

I wonder why that would be? Perhaps its because that is the side of the road they drive on 💡

or maybe its because that's the only model they could get their hands on when it came to modeling.

Depends on where PD get the car from to model (often if supplied within Japan they would have right hand drive models).

A friend of mine even had a right hand drive Dodge Charger which doesn't come much more American so it's not as if PD are creating something that doesn't exist. I like the variety and have got used to driving both left and right hand drive.

It would be nice to choose left or right hand drive for new cars but I can imagine it being an awkward thing to program the changeover of the dashboard from the version originally modelled. Modelling left and right hand drive versions would be very time consuming/expensive. It might be easier to do on a standard car of course.

I like the idea of different options when buying a new Premium car though. It would make it feel mkore like the process involved in buying your own new car.

Well certain cars do have this.....the evira has the widest selection of colours in cockpit, the sls, aston martin db9, and audi r8 also have them. I am pretty sure there are many more however the 458 was shown to have different interiors but does not :(

I like to drive my cars stock, meaning that the only way I can use black wheels is to buy something aftermarket :grumpy:

Additional options - I like! Would make the car feel more personal. Additional manufacturer rims, interior options, different engine specs, etc. I think the manufacturers could be willing to sponsor the development of that for a bit, after all, a lot of their own websites have interactive features that lets you "design your own car" so beeing able to drive it in GT5 is just the next level.

Edit: Right-hand drive depends on what market the car is intended for, not where it's made. For instace, the Volvo C30 in the game is intended for the Japanese market (if you read the description it's stated there), thus it's right-hand drive.

There are some cars that do come with different interior colors. The Mustang comes to mind. You don't get to pick the interior, it changes depending on the exterior.

But...

You can buy one copy in the exterior color you want, and then buy a second in the interior color you want and paint the second with the paint chip from the first. You get factory color combinations that PD doesn't set by default but that Ford probably allows.

I would like if you can choice what factory colour, Factory interior colour, Factory rims. Like in Test Drive unlimted 2. that was quite good because i could make my car different to everyone elses car. In tdu2 i had a Ferrari 458 red with black and red interior with black wheels.

Also what would of been good is where ever your at all the cars steering wheels would be on that side for example, im from uk so it would be rhd

Gt5 really needs to treat the game like the buyer is going to a dealership JUST LIKE test drive! Its so cool to walk around and start it up and everything before you ohhh lets say spend 2,000,000 cred on a car that sucks
