Faint drifting, how to make them longer??

not necessarily gt-4 fan a true stock car can teach u all the basic drift technique's and control underpowered cars are harder to drift obviously i can take my s14 k's and drift the turn or i can take a d1 silvia and drift it takes more precise inputs to drift that certain with a underpowered car such a silvia s14 k's as with the d1 car u can just power thru it buthey what do i know this is just my opion on this subject i will post the video here in a few

comments are welcome like i said this is my view on the matter kind of off topic but i wanna show u all on gtp that u dont need a car fully modded or setup to drift a decently sized hairpin turn and i use the feint drift to enter the specific turn enjoy

I see that all of you are using the DFP.. :grumpy: You guys turn the wheel 180 degrees to the left on that Tsukuba turn right after the faint, and keep it that way, to the end of the turn.. I can only turn it 90 degrees :indiff: So i'm pretty sure that i could do better drifts if i had a DFP ;)

I was wondering if this is doable in GT4

I mean, there is no way to pull this off in game, like drifting that long, and quick change of direction and continuing the drift..
I can't pull this off with CSL and DF wheel, so is this doable with DFP... and if it is, please post a video of a situation like on this RL movie...
I've also noticed that you guys while drifting are going full throtlle, and your RPM is going red, but when my wheels start to loose grip, it want do redlining, no matter how much i press the gas.. can you explain this..?

Hmmm very intresting i agree with the fact that cars with more power do make your life easy but then again just cos you dont have the power doesnt mean you cant acomplish the task. Ie i was able to drift the intire long left of apricot hill before the hairpin using a 250 bhp trueno ss its all about entry speed and finding the right angle to acomplish the task at hand so practice i think is the key factor in pulling off the task at hand thats just my personal opinion.

WOW this is the biggest thread i've seen i mean lots of typing. Well i am an UBER UBER noob i jsut get a turbo for more power. :D

muahaha a lot of typing indeed...

@Boris Lozac: im just trying to tell u that every car that has a different drivetrain will drive and act different, they dont all act the same... cars (fr, 4wd, ff, mr) have different driving needs etc and handle different like a mr example has alot of understeer so u have to use other ways or control ur damn speed, angle, throttle etc ok? later damn told u im not good at explaining if u dont get any of this then dont mind reading or even doing it but i bet u anything other people can get what im trynna say im out peace...

it is possible damn set ur wheel to 270 angle whatever or PRACTICE dont whine whatever ur doing right now to us if u can pull it off keep practicing or set ur wheel to a shorter turning radius whatever since i dont have a damn dfp i cant tell u cuz im not rich :dunce:

I neither have the DFP Kon, i have DF.. And what's with all those "damn" words.. chill out man.. i didn't say i don't understand your point, i do, partially, but your writing is, like, "damn man everycar act difff ere ntman you woulda practiceLOL i am outtahere" :sly: I mean i see your point, but make that English more undersandable.. ;)

Yep he's right, a little less "damn" would be nice, and it IS a bit hard to understand:scared:👎 So you don't know another word for "u"? Cause it's "you". And "ur" has to be "your" in this forum, try to type it that way cause that isn't too hard AT ALL.

ok, well my way of drifting long is not to do such sideway drifts, make like a 45 degree angle. Just tunr the car slightly so it can drift. That's jsut how i drift longer.

there u go put little angle and as "you" -_- get closer to the grass or the wall slow down by using the brake and more angle and slowly punch back up the gas... too bad i dont have a wheel if i did i wouldve been using it a long time ago but ds2 works just as good later ppl... :dopey:

i have crappy explainations so might as well not listen to me its just my opinon...

if u cant pull off faint drifting might as well try other ways of drifting...

Well, I think that the angle of your car must correspond to the corner you are drifting. Since your tires still have kinetic friction when they lose their grip and are spinning (drifting), some of it is used to propel you through the corner and some of it is used to turn through the corner. The amount of friction for each component (propelling and turning) depends on the angle. If your angle is too high, most of the kinetic friction is used for turning and not enough to keep your momentum. That is why the drift won't hold :).

Nevermind... I missed your post on the second page. I see you lowered your speed and took the turn much better. Good job. :)

Guys, is it much easier to control the drift angle with the DFP wheel, because on the vids, i see you guys turn the wheel 180 degrees....
Also i don't know how many of you watched that Enthusia vid comparing RL footage with ingame, with that silver MX5.. Did you saw how that guy turn the wheel fast, he really rotate it, i don't know what is that wheel, but it is really good, he rotate it like in real life..
Do you guys turn your DFP wheel like that, can someone please make a vid.. i wanna see how you turn your wheels when drifting.. I saw many RL videos of drifting, and they really rotate that wheel... not just turn it to one side...
