Ready?

1 (Numbers): How many living beings are mentioned in the famous "As I was going to St. Ives" poem (note: I'm not asking you to solve the riddle, which has the answer "1", but how many living beings in total if you add them all together)?
2 (Inventions): With what invention is Art (Arthur) Fry credited?
3 (Literature): Aslan, the Pevensies and Mr. Tumnus - in which book do they all appear as central characters?
4 (Motorsports): Who is the Indy Racing League champion for 2005?
5 (Biology): What is nociception?
6 (Chemistry): Which chemical has the symbol "Ds"?
7 (TV): Caffrey, Pegg, Fenway, Ramsey, Baylock and Cavennaugh form "Red Team" - an emergency response to alien first contact - in which recent CBS sci-fi series (also aired on Sky in the UK)?
8 (Sports/Football): Which club holds the record for the most "Ballon d'Or" (European Footballer of the Year) winners?
9 (Science): Project Juno took Helen Sharman to become the first... what?
10 (Geography): What is the capital city of Slovakia?

Enjoy!

Addendum: A few people say they've never heard of the St. Ives poem. So...

As I was going to St. Ives, I met a man with seven wives,
Each wife had seven sacks, each sack had seven cats, each cat had seven kits,
Kits, cats, sacks, wives - how many were going to St. Ives?

The answer is one. But I want to know how many living beings in total are there in the poem.

Incidentally, the Leaderboard is open for viewing...

We, of the united states, should rebel into an americanized quiz. I mean, unless you're going to ask questions about other sports besides football/soccer in the future.

IRL? Think thats in America....

Crap that was hard, I had to guess at a few of them.

But still... no question about american football, hockey or basket-ball?

Believe it or not, there are more countries in Europe than America.

But still.. No questions on the Australian Football League, Monkey Knife Fighting or Lesbian Mud Wrestling?

Yeah, but at least basketball and baseball are world-sports.

Since when was America in Europe?

I looked up all of them on Google! I think I have at least 9 of time. I am not sure on the St. Ives poem!
So, in other words, your score is -100 because the rules specifically forbid looking things up.

I thought you were allowed to look them up but it just took all the fun outta it? I knew most of them, but the thing about the soccer team I just guessed and the CBS TV show as well.

The only reason I knew about the St. Ives thing is because I had just seen that the other day for some reason.

But looking stuff up takes all the fun outta it, althought I had to look up the Ds symbol in order to spell it.

Why is it that I only ever know one of the 10... and its generaly the motorsports question... Wait, dont answer that... :dunce:

If I knew anything about "American" sports, I'd ask questions about them. I wouldn't even know the correct context to ask questions about Gretsky or Sosa.

So instead I ask about WORLD sports - the FIFA World Cup (proper football) is the largest single-sport event on Earth, and the second largest event of any variety (after the summer Olympics).

There's no rule stating that you must answer every question correctly - or even attempt them at all. If you don't know or like a question, ignore it.

There isn't a rule against Googling either - but winning by getting someone else to answer for you makes you a big poopyhead, and makes Baby Jesus cry.

7 (TV): Caffrey, Pegg, Fenway, Ramsey, Baylock and Cavennaugh form "Red Team" - an emergency response to alien first contact - in which recent CBS sci-fi series (also aired on Sky in the UK)?
They were formed for alien first contact? So they had one job, and were then disbanded after the aliens made contact?

I'd like to be part of that team. There'd be quite a lot of sitting aobut with your feet up I'd imagine.

There seems to be a great deal of Googling this week, especially with regards to question 5...

14. Casio - 0 (and deserving of having marks taken off too... :D )

ZERO?!

I thought I at least got one! I demand want a recount!

This would be easier if you asked questions I knew the answer to...Also, someone better get lower then zero, I don't want to be the GTP dumbass...

Although, I'll take my non-goggling Zero above all you google cheats anyday.
