If I knew anything about "American" sports, I'd ask questions about them. I wouldn't even know the correct context to ask questions about Gretsky or Sosa.

So instead I ask about WORLD sports - the FIFA World Cup (proper football) is the largest single-sport event on Earth, and the second largest event of any variety (after the summer Olympics).

There's no rule stating that you must answer every question correctly - or even attempt them at all. If you don't know or like a question, ignore it.

Daan: Two countries participate in the Baseball world series: US and Canada... but here's a better one: the Super Bowl winner is a world champion, and they only have one country there, although Canada has a CFL, but the rules change slightly... intead of the field being 100 yards, it's 100 mts... like in real football, right?

The fact that 110 yards is relatively close to 100 metres is pure coincidence. The field was designed using yards, and is marked in yard increments.
