Fan Speed Help

Well guys, my computer is acting kinda weird lately. It has become accustomed to having a fan on it's internals. I have cleaned the HS/F to no effect.

What I am getting down to is, in SpeedFan, it detects no fans. Yet, I have a PSU fan and the HSF on my Pentium4 Socket478 processor.

I'm assuming you have them plugged into the CPU_FAN and CHASSIS_FAN connectors on your motherboard, correct?

edit:

Nevermind about the chassis fan .. just realized you didn't have one.

Argh. If my new computer was in my room I'd go check. But I'm lazy like that.

I have no idea. I do know the CPU Fan is plugged into the mobo. Don't know where.
Refer to your mobo manual to see where exactly the CPU Fan should be plugged in.

And if memory serves, the PSU fan is connected directly to the PSU itself and not to the motherboard. So for all your mobo knows, you have no PSU fan.

Ok. Let me clarify. I can SEE where it is plugged in but I don't know what it is seen as in BIOS or whatever.

Like what adress it is assigned to.

EDIT: I put the fan damn near inside the case and now my temps have fropped to 24 Celcius and 29 Celcius for Local Temp and Remote Temp respectively.

EDIT2:I put ice in a bag, wrapped it in another bag... and set it inside the case. It is dropping like crazy now!
