Fanatec Carrera Dead

I knew the day was coming, but it's finally happened.

My lovely, lovely Fanatec Carrera, which I purchased in January 2010, has finally died. I was just racing on GT5 when I heard weird knocking noise inside it. Next turn, the whole thing just lost feedback.

Steering the wheel no longer has an effect in game so I have no idea what has gone wrong.

I don't know how those things are built, but maybe the sensor became loose or something like that? Does it calibrate?

I looked inside, a tooth is missing on one of the gears.

Conclusion: New wheel required.

Get a DFGT, you can get them for about £90 and the only real downside is the pedals. :indiff:

I am going to get a G27 next I think. £180 though.

Tough break fella, I've had my G25 for about 6 years works like a champ not a single glitch. Those Fanatecs don't seem to be that reliable as Logitechs.

Yeah, I have heard more horror stories about the Fanatecs than the Logitech gear.
