No news yet, I am afraid. It is not possible to announce a date yet but at least we have some perfect working samples now.

You should post a photo of the actual shifter somewhere so people can see it. Not a print out... The actual shifter in someone's hands.

They do not even need to be studio quality, just some stock shots.

Thanks thehawk.

Unfortunately, that seems to be an old photo. It's the same design as shown by Thomas in the video posted here: http://www.911wheel.de/?q=node/5957&page=1 (though that is only a printout of 3D model he shows there)

I'm curious to see these: "... but at least we have some perfect working samples now"

I'm also curious why that photo was removed from this post on Fanatec's blog: http://www.911wheel.de/?q=node/8191&page=2

That's why I would like to see the "new" one.

Let's get the production line queued up Fanatec!!

I really need a good shifter for the CSRE, I see the shifter set is still on back order.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll hold off on getting the CSW, BMW rim, and CS Pedals V2 until the shifter is also available. Currently racing with GT3 RS V2 and CS Pedals V1.

Thomas,

Is there any determination of what it will cost yet? Just curious after a couple years of waiting.

@XXI, If you want something nice right now, don't hesitate to pick up the TH8RS. It's a fantastic stick. I have been waiting for the CSS as well. I broke down and got this, and couldn't be happier. I will also pick up the CSS upon release, and keep the TH8RS as a back-up.

That's great, but I'm having trouble finding the Interfaceone to run the TH8RS. Anyone know where I can find one?

I bought the CSR Elite wheel when it was out, I was among the first ones and was planning to buy a shifter too, I was ready to get the CSR set but Mr. T showed us the pictures of a new shifter and promised to deliver it sometime after that, I did not buy the CSR set and after 10 months I'm still without the shifter and I have no idea whether we are going to have this shifter out one day or not.

While having great products such as CSW Wheel, CSP V2 Fanatec had to deliver a quality (CS) shifter too in order to complete the picture.

Just thinking aloud...

I believe the guy who not only designed, fabricated but also sold the Interfaceone (so that the TH8RS can be used with CSRE or any Fanatec wheel while using Xbox/Fm4- not sure about PS3 although with PC the TH8RS can be used sans interface in conjunction with any wheels regardless of the make/model) has stopped production.

I read on his thread on another forum that he will start production of the interfaceone in two months time if theirs enough interest

Well that's good to know I'll be looking in to buying one, I really want a nice shifter...

Please take no offense here, this is MY opinion:

Honestly, if you are already willing to spend +-$700-1,500 on sim racing gear, and you do not plan to do PC racing, you are wasting your time & hard earned $$$$. While FM4 & GT5 are "fun", I want real. This is where there is no argument as to where you should be racing..... There are a few really good PC sims for cheap other than iRacing that offer realistic type racing. Once you pick up a PC sim, you will not even think about going back to a console, I promise you this.

I never thought I would agree with this, but I do. I used to play consoles exclusively (Xbox) mainly for the simplicity. I have played all of the Forza games and thought they were racing simulators. Not too long ago I started getting into PC sim racing. So far I just play rFactor until I get a new computer which is when I will get into iRacing. Now I know that Forza is an arcade racing game. It is still fun and looks great, but the immersion factor of playing an actual racing simulation can't be beat. I rarely play Forza anymore. For a very old game rFactor is still great mostly because of the modding community. It is cheap to start (about $20), requires a very low end computer, and all the add on mods are free.

In regards to wasting money on sim hardware for consoles, I'm yet to find a pc sim that simulates drifting anywhere near the level that gt5 provides and I think my safety rating would get pretty bad, very quickly on Iracing if I even tried, drifting is a competitive motorsport and not everyone uses their wheels for competitive racing.

That's great guys..........But how is that related to information regarding the CSS

He was asking about an interface one card for the TH8RS for immediate us for xbox purposes. If you are willing to spend that money already, just go PC. It would be wasteful to spend a thousand dollars/euro on sim-racing gear to just play FM4 or GT5. As for the CSS, will it even be xbox compatible? we do not know the answer to that yet either.

And as for the drifting Sleepa20v, you have me there. I couldn't tell ya what to do on that one. And yea, your SR would plummet, LOL. Loss of Control 2x's allover.:scared:

I've spent upwards of ÂŁ3500 on my set up and in the next week or so intend to spend a possible ÂŁ700-ÂŁ1400 more on hardware. I don't have a PC and don't see it as a waste at all. PC isn't for everyone I've tried Iracing and like others I know I'm not keen on it. It's kind of ironic that pc sim fan's knock PS3 and xbox on a site that's primary function is GT5 related information lol I'm not saying I'm against PC, I will probably go that route some day soon. I just don't like reading "PC is the only way to go" etc in so many threads. To each their own.

I'm pretty hard core PC racing, if you don't believe me check out my setup, and I still play Forza and gt5 triple screen projector. Because my friends still play it and it's fun to play with them. Also I still feel the console racers have UI and front end advantages over PC that just make it easier to navigate. You can still do both.

The CS shifter will only work with PC right?

I'd like to hope not lol The CSW and Elite have ports for shifters as you know very well Mayaman, so I hope it's plug and play. Did you not try the interfaceone? Or am I mistaken

Id assume the CS Shifter would plug into the Fanatec wheels, and have a USB interface so its standalone like the CSPs.
Thats just me speculating, since their wheels already have shifter ports, they do the same thing with their high end pedals, and they've got the whole 'consoles+pc friendly' thing going that probably gets them quite a bit of business.

Maybe people just want to have fun racing Forza 4/GT5, with really good equipment... I can't see the CSS being only PC that would be tragic.

To each is own then. I apologize for the arrogant comments. I meant no offense, they were solely my opinion as I stated on the prior page. I just do not see the worth, that is all. Fun is truly in the eye of the beholder.

Again, what I wonder is, 1. The price-point of the shifter, & 2. Its compatibility capabilities.

Yeah I assumed it was compatible with anything the wheel works with. But with all this talk about PC only racing I didn't know if I missed something in the past.
