Wasn't sure how to title this. I just decided to have a quick look at the latest build of pCARS and ran into an issue with my Brake pedal. In pCARS, no matter what setting in-game the brakes were always silly, whilst I could calibrate etc in the options, in the game they hardly registered so it would take an age to brake properly.
I've always had my pedals plugged into my CSR cos it was nice and easy. Many people have said I should plug the pedals into the PC as they're higher res and therefore more responsive etc.
So as I had this issue with pCARS I thought it was the right time to plug the pedals in direct to the PC.
Lovely, they worked like a charm..but here's the dilemma. As I use shifters as well, plugging the pedals into the PC pushes me over the 3 controller limits of the racers I use most (GSC and GTR Evo) so now I cannot get to use the pedals at all as the controller options dont recognise I have them.
Anyone found an easy solution to this, surely others must have the problem.
I understand you cannot plug both PS/2 and USB at the same time (even just the pedal end). I have my pedals fixed to my MDF base so dont want to unscrew everytime I change game..
boo to controller limitations 👎

If its only something you run into with pCARS, it would probably be best to take the issue over to the WMD forums, specially since one of the moderators there is a Fanatec support droid.

I've never really had good luck with the pedal calibration in pCARS, I;ve always just left them at default (only calibrated the wheel) and they've felt good [CSP v1's plugged in USB.] whenever I tried calibrating the pedals they got kinda weird for me [apparently you need to do it several times for it to work properly]

First things to try are to delete your profile and start it fresh, and make sure that the pedals sensitivity are at 50 (should be the default). And make sure to use the 'separate pedals' presets in the game.

Also can check the telemetry to see how the pedals are being received in the game, and maybe make a new preset on the wheel which disables everything but FFB [maybe one of the pedal vibration things is contributing to that]?

I know it's not really a cost effective option, but you use my SFA1 with your DSD shifter...

Can't you just map the shifter with xpadder though?

The problem isn't the pedals when plugged in with USB, it's only when plugged into the CSR, but as everyone says it's better if pedals are plugged direct to PC then it's how I'd prefer to keep it. Obviously it's still early days with pCARS, but it's certainly come on in the last six months (since last time I looked at it)

lol..I just wrote a reply saying I cant justify buying one yet mate but I guess I should succumb as I assume my other games will benefit from having pedals plugged in directly to PC :) so when do you have the next batch ready ;)

As for xpadder, that doesn't help cos in things like Simbin games you cannot see controllers after No.3 so you cant choose what you do. For example if I have CSR, Pedals, TH8 and DSD plugged in, a simbin racer shows 'TH8, DSD, CSR' in that order (no pedals because it's after No.3) You cannot change any orders etc so there's no fix without taking something out, so even using xpadder still wont bring pedals up the list, if you see what I mean. As it happens, I do use xpadder so I can use both DSD and CSR paddles :)

In regards to xpadder... :( Sorry, I actually have never used it. :) But... You have a PM. :)

Would you like a discount so you can afford the massage necessary after my arm twisting? hehe

Yes... Yes it was...
