Fanatec CSR Pedal spring mod.

Has anybody that owns a set of CSR pedals, replaced springs that come with the pedals with stiffer springs? The springs that come stock with the pedals are far too easy to push.I didnt bother me much for the gas pedal but for the clutch and especially the brake I needed more resistance. So I went to my local ACE store and purchased new springs for about 3$ a piece. The springs I got were about 2-3 inches longer but the same width. I took the pedals apart.(Which is fairly easy by the way)

After about an hour of trying to compress the stiffer springs and making sure I hooked the sensor up correctly, I was able to test it out. The clutch and brake feel like my real MR2 does. I've had my girlfriend and friends try it out and they love the realistic feel it has. So has anybody tried this?

Yes. Among other things. That's great you are trying stuff like that out. If you want to look for some other selections of springs, check out http://www.mcmaster.com/ I ordered a bunch of different ones from there to test with. I will take a look when I have some time and see which springs I have that I liked. You have to order them in sets of 5 or something. If I have any left that were good, I can send them to you.

I even went so far as to make my own force sensitive pedal to replace the stock one. Here's an early version of it. It dropped right into the CSR pedal base:

Nice work Mr Basher! How did you make it pressure sensitive? Is there a FSR in there somewhere?

No problem. By the way I went to true value to get the springs not ace hardware. The brand name of the springs I got are called Century spring corp. The size is, 5/8 x 3 x .80

Well Im sure you could get the same springs I got from your local hardware store(not the same brand but I'm sure that doesnt matter).
