Long story short, been out of country for about a year, had my xbox and csr wheel with me traveling so I could play forza 4. On my way home and I can't wait to try out the GT6 demo and play GT5 again. Anyways, I've never used my Fanatec CSR with my PS3. Do I have to connect it to the PS3 with a wire? Do I have to download any special drivers?

I'm asking this as I travel so I can try and be ready once I get home. If it needs a wire or drivers, I want to be able to have them before I get home.

Thanks.

You just need to plug it in to the USB port on the PS3 with the PS/2 to USB adapter cable. No drivers necessary, but you could possibly update the firmware if you wanted to. There are varied opinions on which ones people like the best.

Sweet thanks.

Not sure why but there isn't a ps/2 to USB cable that came with the wheel. Was their supposed to be one? I will have to go out and find one tomorrow.

I would think so; I don't have a regular CSR, but both my CSW and my CSR Elite came with them.

I never throw anything away with stuff like this. I just looked through everything that came with it and it did have a few different cables, but not a ps/2 to USB.

It's just a usual USB cable from the wheelbase to the ps3 so no ps2/USB cable required.

You do need to put the wheel into ps3 mode though - the instructions will have the steps to do this.

The cable comes with the wheel. You may also need a USB extension cable as I found the supplied cable wasn't long enough.
