As always ...

Ready to race !

Gonna be interesting to see both how many use the SF19 vs the SF23 (Cost about the same for both last I checked) and who's using the Honda or Toyota. In my experience, the SF23 feels less of a handful behind other cars.

I’ll be in the SF19-Honda. I won it from a roulette ticket and it’s the only one I have.

After 3 completed Fuji events [different user accounts} there's no sign of rain yet. At least there's no refueling needed. I also tried 2 laps on RS & 3 pit stops. I won't try medium or hard difficulty until I'm sure there is absolutely 0 boost.

I had rain in the middle of the first race. Accumulated below the first line. Figured it would get heavier and AI would put, but wind shifted the cell past.
Second race, the small cells(pink mixed with yellow) flew past either side of the track location.

Didn't think this week looked that interesting, ended up having quite a lot of fun with it. Silvia Sisters is pretty short and nothing special, gave me a chance to try a new 2JZ swap at least. American FR Challenge is easy because the AI is really slow through a few corners, Corvette C2 was really fun to drive, you need to watch for the Viper catching up once it gets into second. Japanese Clubman Cup isn't too tricky either and it's decent fun driving in the evening at Spa, anything over 500 PP, especially on SH will be enough. 812 one-make is much harder than the previous ones although a completely stock car on SM was just about enough. Super Formula was absolutely fantastic although I think the AI is slower than they used to be. I went with the SF19 on RS and got into the lead on lap 6, pulled a decent gap just before it rained hard on lap 7. Pitted and switched to wets while the AI struggled around on slicks for another lap, ran until lap 11 where the track was dry enough again to go back to RS. Driving on a damp track with a lot of water off line as it ran into the evening was great fun, ended up winning by 50 seconds. Might have to try again to see if I can get a dry race, definitely had the pace to do it even with a pit stop. For anyone that's struggling either restart until you get rain or play around with your tyre strategy, you might be able to make RM last depending on your pace. Use a little overtake out of tight corners and make sure you don't let the AI slipstream you.

This should make things more interesting for the Silvia Sisters race. Get on the podium in a stock Silvia spec-R Aero (S15) '02 [502.35 PP].

I think it's impossible to place 1st with a completely stock car for this race but it is possible to get on the podium with a Clean Race Bonus.

Check out my run below. I didn't think I would get a Clean Race Bonus for this but I guess rubbin' is racin'.

Easily, my RMs were about half worn at the end. I ran safe and steady low 1'25s after getting out of traffic, passing Drumont for second after perhaps five laps and then began hunting down Fraga some ten seconds up the road. It never rained and I took the lead on lap 11, eventually winning by some 20 seconds over Drumont as Fraga pitted before the last lap - don't colour me surprised, the only car in the field given RS tyres to ensure the top spot in case it rains. Usual PD in that regard.

Four down (hard difficulty)...

weekly-challenge-202507w3-r1.jpg

Tsukuba - Nissan 180SX Type X '96 - This car is modified six ways to Sunday, but I could still only muster a P3. Still, good enough for the first ticket. Got some ceramic brakes from it.

weekly-challenge-202507w3-r2.jpg

Trial Mountain - Chevrolet Corvette C7 Gr.3 Road Car - Let the car bone stock on the SH tires because it was already over the recommended PP. Easy win for the second check.

[Oops! Forgot to take a photo]

Spa - Amuse NISMO 380RS Super Leggera - Another easy win in a bone stock car. I love the sound of this thing. Second ticket obtained.

weekly-challenge-202507w3-r4.jpg

Catalunya - Ferrari 812 Superfast '17- Tires upgraded to SS, but otherwise stock. Took the lead at the start of lap 4, then gave it back when I forgot to brake in time for T4 and went into the sand. Got it back at the start of the final lap. Held it this time for the win. Fourth box checked.

1. I begun the week with the Nissan Sileighty (On a side note, I quite like the front end to this car.) - It really struggled in the straights, but in the corners it was very quick.
2. Once again, I used the Camaro I got to use in Week 26, it's very skittish, which is the biggest problem fo rit.
3. I next used a Evo Faux LM car, which made the race easy (But a bit boring)
4. The issue I've found with the 812 Superfast is, really, that it's just too powerful, and so you're constantly fighting with it. It's why I absolutely hate this one-make event.
5. Finally, I did the Super Formula with a Jaguar R22 (Not a real F1 car) - It's very quick, but I spun out a few times. It seems to be a problem with Fuji really.

Oh, this Fuji race is probably one of the top 3 hardest races in the entire game. I remember it took me weeks of playing it just to get a win on hard difficulty. Good luck everyone.

Edit: To quote myself from another thread about that race:

I'm trying it with softs now and ran a low 1:22.1 lap. I was in first place after lap 6 but the rain came in as my tires were on the way out. I saw a lot of dark blue in the sky so I put on inters. 4 laps later, and despite dark blue sky's overhead the rain didn't come down very much and everyone on clapped out race tires still out broke, out turned and out accelerated me in the wet conditions. This race is 100% rigged. I've got over 200 miles put in to this race today. 200 or so yesterday. My best is 3rd place about 17 seconds behind the leader. So many races I have been in a good position only to spin out on lap 14 because my tires were gone. Yet Hisal can put in low 1:23 laps on his clapped out hard tires.

Edit: 367 miles today on just this one race. Fastest lap of 1:22.061. The AI is still 9 seconds ahead of me at lap 7. Other laps are 1:23's and 1:24's. I've restarted more times than I can count. I no longer will start a race with Lopez, Hizal, Gallo or Fraga on the top 3. If I can't run sub 1:20 on my out lap I need to start over. If I can't hit 1:23 or a very low 1:24 on lap 2 I need to start over. If I get a penalty in that fast left hander, I have to start over. There is literally no room for error in this race.

Edit 2: 600 miles on this race. Best result is 3rd being 1.5 seconds behind 1st. I had a great run going and was 2 seconds behind 1st on lap 13. Tires were looking great and my pace was good. On the long right hander the 2nd place AI decided to let off the gas right as I was approaching him. Slammed in to his ass end and spun me out. I had the race won and the AI pulled another middle finger out at me. That took me about 5 minutes of just sitting there contemplating life to even grab the wheel again.

But I'm done for tonight. This race isn't even fun. If the implementation of Sophy makes the rest of the game like this, I don't think I would play it. This truly is not fun to get penalized for avoiding slow traffic, get spun out by AI because I'm driving faster then them. Have a rigged grid so you have to continually go in and back out and back in and back out so you can get just the right grid to give even really good drivers a chance at winning. It's just not a fun game to play when the deck is stacked against you like this.

Either it was harder originally, my driving has improved, or the current physics are better for the car or whatever, but the OG version was nigh on impossible to win cleanly. Now my results on hard are a few posts back.

Back then Drumont had hard tyres that gripped like softs, straight line speed like he had no downforce, but the cornering ability of a Monaco setup. It was so out of place among the other SF races that perhaps they did something to it, it's still clearly the hardest of them but not with a silly margin anymore.

Solid set of races this week. Except for the Ferrari one.

Tsukuba Circuit_.jpeg

Took out my Midnight Purple Sileighty at Tsukuba. Solid win, I always love Tsukuba.

Trial Mountain Circuit Reverse_.jpeg

Yeeeehaaww!

Spa 24h layout_.jpeg

My other Toyota broke down, so had to use the service van instead. Surprisingly it was good enough the win the race. Maybe this should be my regular racing Toyota. Hmm.

Never been that crazy about the powerful modern supercars. They bore me. PD, we get it, you want to make full use of that Ferrari license. But why make it at the worse track in the world? I hate this track, its so flat and uninteresting. Of all the amazing tracks in the world, this one made it into the game. Sigh.

Fuji International Speedway__1.jpeg

Was setting fast laps for 7 laps until rain decided to make an appearance. Hence this. But well, still won it, just with a smaller gap. No comment.

Did only one race ......Fuji
But first i turn the level to easy ( no shame at all ) since that type of races aren't even close to my cup or tea - coffee or whatever.
With laps around 28-29 ( beat 27's ) on RH tyres no rain ,no stop and done .
As fof CRB , died before even start 🤣 .
This week is like wash&go for me anyway.
So hot here that swimming at the sea is far more interesting today.

Coming back after the sea , taking a shower and decide to clear the rest 4 races .
Lost CRB at Spa ( my fault ) and took the rest 3 .
Considering that i hate All Sylvia sisters races and the single sitters ones this week was kind like that .

The 6* gave me an NSX 02 and to my surprise can be sold at 323k which is more that some previous gt3 and gt2 cars that i have won.

Anyway no further action in weeklies this time and hope PD put an end to that Superfast solo crap .
Have a good time and for those who struggle at Fuji remember that easy level isn't a shame 😁 .
Psychological health is over all 😂 .

Too hot for tea/coffee, surely?

(Yeah I know, don't call me Shirley  )

Also, I remember Wash & Go. Used it for awhile but went back to Head & Shoulders eventually.

This week's races and rewards are crap, so I'm skipping this week. Frankly, I'm losing interest in GT7 anyway, there are more enjoyable things to do in the summer, and these weeklies are uninspired sometimes.

sorry for derailing the thread. This set of races is okay. Not a big fan of the Fuji race though

Silvia Sisters: Nissan Silvia Spec R Aero. Easy peasy, Lemon squeezy.
American FR Challenge 550: Chevy Camaro ZL1 1LE. Other then some hairy close calls on lap 1, much the same.
Japanese Clubman Cup 550: Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X. Just untouchable, especially through Eau Rouge.
Super Formula: Dallara SF23 Toyota. The one race I could not do a CRB no matter how many attempts (always the faintest touch some how). Weather was thankfully similar to the video I did earlier this week, but it did briefly get abit interesting.
Ferrari 812 Superfast One-Make: Glad this is done, car just feels impossible to make handle well despite my best efforts. All I wanted was to make this a slick track day machine similar to my 458 Challenge Build and yet all I have is a car that behaves both like a Hovercraft (Refuses to turn) AND a Horse (Wants to kick alot).

Also, the 6-star car ticket got me this:

I can dig it.

My goal for the Weekly race is now to complete as many races as I can using as many '70s cars as possible. I will drive in polyester if I can find some in my house. I already have a 'Vette dressed for the job.

Likely sponsors to show up on my livery:
  • Ultra Sheen
  • Afro Sheen
  • And Ultra Sheen Hair Care Products.
