The game shows in Fanalab and I've assigned the wheel settings to it (one of the 5 wheel presets) on the game profile tab. I've only recently bought a PC so still learning tbh.
I've got to try and figure out how to do that. Right now I have all 5 presets filled but I thought I heard you can assign settings to the game in Fanalab so you can technically have more than 5. I've got Project Motor Racing ordered and I'm probably going to get LeMans Ultimate and Assetto Corsa EVO at some point so that's 8 presets I need.

Hi I'm seeing the GT DD Extreme on the refurb store and was wondering if anyone has bought from the refurb store before and has had any issues? I've read about Clubsport DD+ wheels cogging, creaking and clicking and people getting RMA'd units sent to them with the same issue. The price is quite attractive though

I've just joined the Fanatec DD universe!

Recently purchased a GT DD Pro 5NM... and was wondering if there were any recommended in-game and wheelbase settings I can start off with for 1.61 update?
Obvs there are a lot of vids on YT, but those seem a bit old and I'm not sure if they're outdated?
Any guidance would be appreciated, thx!

Have a look at the link in my signature, I've got the 8Nm but they might be a good starting point.

Unfortunately, every game is going to be different. There are only a few settings that I share between games. Your best bet is to take the recommended Fanatec settings on their forum (per game) and make adjustments. Most people have recent updates within each topic. For me, the damper adjustment has the biggest affect. I tend to have that on the low side, if not all the way off. If you're playing on a PC, the Fanatec App has a pretty good explaination of each setting and what it does. I'm on a DD1, so I can't be any more help. Welcome to the Fanatec Eco System!

DD+ on PS5 pro

After some time spent mostly w GT7, FH5 & some F1, the FFB has definitely changed from 467, not in a good way

Some force related value or multiplier has changed. - suspension compression and release espescially is much more forceful and abrupt - when combine w steering input really feels off and harder to controll

Went back to 467 - and got stuck in an update loop. Back to 463 which fixed that and then up to 467 which is where I’m staying - my PVGT encoders and PBME buttons all work properly

I'm only playing GT7, so I guess I won't have to worry about tinkering settings for each game.

Thanks for the input, fellas! 🤝

Try out @Abarth_71 settings - I’ve used them before and agree they’d be a good place to start

Fanatec’s settings have not been update since the Pro was introduced a few years back, as they really aren’t console users so look for others

Also GT7 does use the Auto setting on the wheel menu - about the only game that does - and its not bad actually

Well so much for that - next time I turned the base back on its stuck in update mode. Spent several hours trying various downgrade/upgrade steps. I can go back to 464 and earlier (2.4.X.x) or 468 and later (2.6.X.x) but NOT the 2.5.X.x FW I want - arrghh.

The whole uninstall/reinstall/reboot/reflash is soooo tedious - would really love something that just handled FW directly - pick the version and install it - part of the new app? would be nice

So stuck going forward I guess so hope they fix the FFB

Installed Simube QR2 on my CSL DD base and Mclaren / BMW wheels, lower cost than Fanatec, arrived a week or so after order to the UK, install was easy, everything works well, the QR2 is well made and rock solid, and was much cheaper than Fanatec (currently on offer as well), I am waiting on duty charges though.

Happy to get rid of the QR1 and haveing to use the screw to hold everything tight and avoid clunking!

I also ordered a QR2 with Fanatec emultaor built in, this unlocks FFB which then allows use of a non-Fanatec steering wheelwheel on a Fanatec base, I just have to decide on which wheel I am going to buy to use it with!

Now to see how well it works over the coming months...

Nice to see finally - hopefully they can add some of the internals that tend to wear over time like on the SQ 1.5 or V3 brake parts

But an oops on the EU site overview - a bit pricey! but click in and its the right price

There are a ton of weird things currently happening in the store especially with refurbished stuff.
Some refurbished items are listed, but marked as unavailable. Other stuff is not listed, but available (I have bookmarked a few things that I want to get next)

I'm pretty sure that most (if not all) of the refurbished items are just returns that they legally can't sell as new - which in return means the stock fluctuates a lot, can't really be planned for and is in rather small quantities.

..i’d love to meet the person working at fanatec who is running around saying they need more wheels…

With motors which don’t suck, and work in concert with Full Force. If anyone actually implements it.

Like, whats going on over there?

Looks like a slight aesthetic update to the outgoing McLaren wheel? A bit underwhelming, if that’s the case. There’s far better budget GT-style wheels out there on the market.

This is likely a very cheap way to relaunch an entry level wheel since they probably use the same moulds and components as the McLaren but with a different decoration.

Hi all,

Just wondering does anyone use the clubsport v2.5 formula wheel with a 8nm base? If so, have you any issues with gear shifting and buttons not working consistently?

I bought the base and wheel around 2 months ago. Installed all latest drivers and firmware and it worked fine for about 2 days. I mapped the buttons on gt7 to what I wanted (the wheel showed up under Fanatec Podium on gt7) .

The gearshifts and buttons then started playing up more and more. It was unraceable so i posted on fanatec forum and was told to install old drivers (think was 455) and firmware. The gearshift issues went away but it would no longer let me map buttons.

Now after this time the gear shifting issues have started again.

I have been told to make sure I have the correct old firmware for wheel and wheel base but I dont know what versions they are?

Can anyone please help me if you have found a solution to this!

Thanks.

I agree with your point about rims in general although Fanatec still don't have a rim with a proper LCD display which is madness. However, bringing back the McLaren rim after it got kyboshed by the exclusive McLaren-Logitech deal makes a lot of sense.

Yes. More pedals please Fanatec!

The mapping in GT7 occurs in the panel for the wheel BASE not the wheel so you must use the one for the DD Pro 8nm even though the wheel shown is the GT wheel - and then map the same buttons show - X to X pulldown etc

The panels show the bundled wheel for each base NOT what wheel is mounted

Fanatec has just posted Fanatec App 1.1.0.3 Beta - a bunch of app fixes

Plus Firmware updates with no specifics other than “preparation for new product release”

No accompanying standalone driver/fanalab updates - this may be the end for those

So no more Fanalab? All settings will only be listed on your wheel?

No more updates to Fanalab as they are saying the new all app will handle those functions that were in Fanalab in addtion to the setup and firmware functions

If you want to keep using Fanalab as is then don’t install the new app - use the “traditional” driver/control panel 474 or earlier
