You don't have to wait for the sim racing market to produce a steering wheel to fit your exact needs. You can use any steering wheel rim from any manufacturer with a 6 x 70 mm bolt pattern. One of my wheels is a MOMO rim and I love it!

Oh I’m well aware of that, of course. But it doesn’t look like a production car wheel. The market has plenty of formula and sportscar racing inspired rims, but nothing that looks straight out of a VW Golf, for example.

Quick question for the folks here. I am currently using the P1 V2 CSL wheel with my DD Pro base. I like the wheel a lot, the 300mm size really works for me and the it is a solid wheel for the money. Ideally i'd like more direct buttons for GT7, the standard GT DD wheel is too small, what's the general consensus on the DD Pro Extreme wheel and am I right and saying there is no way to purchase it retail as a stand alone product?

Not avaialble separately from the DD+ and not supported on the DD Pro unless they add a change for it in FW, which has been a long time maybe w no timeline

Buying the DD+ kit is the only way

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh ok. THanks for that, in that case i'll keep what I have. I just like the idea of knobs etc for BB and TC etc etc, makes navigation easier but not worth a huge dollar upgrade.

The Prosche Vision GT has those but not round

I was on the DD Pro, pretty happy w it but upgraded to the DD+ 2 yrs ago - so yes a pricey way to go but its really a huge upgrade in performance and the sweet spot of the line IMO - more then enough power, great FFB and FF so no regrets

Yeah I have a real life sports car I want to start "making my own", which is man maths for frivilous spending, so want to limit my spend on the sim rig to keep the wife from retaliatory handbag purchases.

I factor in handbags when I budget for big purchases for myself as to not get caught blindsided.
 
During the Spa 24 in iRacing my DD Pro suddenly started to exhibit a "grainy" feeling through the wheel. It was absolutely baking in my game room at the time with the UK heatwave so I'm hoping it was a temporary heat problem.

It hasn't occurred since but fear my wheelbase may be on it's way out at some point soon. I've had it since release in 2022.

Need suggestion for bigger rim/wheel for dd+. Currently, using formula v2.5 for 2 years and wheel is great, but i would like to try something in spirit of GT racing and around 30cm. they say size matter so... any suggestion for third party?
 
I'm pretty happy with their CSL GT3 wheel (used to be Mclaren, now non-branded). It's 30cm and has 2 rotaries, rocker switches and buttons, also a dual clutch. Not a premium wheel, but build quality is pretty good and I don't have an issue with rocker-style shift paddles.

I mean, it's up to personal taste regarding the rim itself. Podium hub is amazing as it is, so it's just the rim that you have to decide on.

The thing I love about the Endurance rim is the grip, it's some kind of a rubber finish which is perfect for bare hands and amazing for gloves of any type, so it's versatile. If you go the Porsche route, you choose between the leather which will slide around in gloves, and the suede, for which you have to use gloves if you want it to last more than a month. And also it's thinner than the Endurance rim, so again, personal taste :)

Have a look at Leoxz wheels. Been using their XGT Pro for a while and it's great, slightly under 300mm though at 295. Excellent build quality with a mix of aluminium and carbon.
They also make their own QR2 that allows it to be used on PlayStation and draw power from the wheelbase. Due to the firmware they use the button usage is a bit limited on PS. I use on PC as well and it's superb.
