My fanatec CSR wheel has been great. Zero issues. However my GT2 wheel hasn't worked in 3 months. I shipped it to them... It took a few emails to get them to pick up the wheel from the post office and fix it. They claimed they never received it. and then they shipped it back partially fixed.

Now they are sending me some other part with incredibly complex instructions to replace some board. :banghead:

I really, really hope that some other company releases a quality FF wheel for the next xbox 720 or whatever. I'll spend the money. Fanatec is like a german car manufacturer - they make some great cars but the reliability is terrible.

I've spent a lot of money on fanatec products - CSR wheel, CSR elite pedals, Wheel stand, GT2 wheel - but what choice do I have?

I know a few people that would beg to differ with you here.

Also...There is a more appropriate section for this topic. http://www.forzaplanet.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=29

oops. mod please move thread.

Maybe I just got a lemon. Like I said, my CSR is working just fine.

Possibly. My TurboS has been fine. The standard Porsche pedals on the other hand.... :irked:

We like to move it, move it.

Okay no we don't, just make sure you poke around for the best spot when making a new thread, thanks.

Yes, the standard pedals are garbage....that's why I upgraded to Clubsports. My GT2 and CSP's have been great, so far, after about 6 months of use. ;)

hmmm.... more evidence that mine is a lemon. I hardly use my wheels - maybe once a week. But when you want to use it, you expect it to work.

My CSR elite pedals are great. The shifter however is not so great. It's really mushy shifting into 5th and 6th. I wish someone would make an adapter to use the G27 shifter. That thing is nice. Reminds me of the gearbox on my Acura TSX.

interfaceone makes an adapter to allow for third party shifters to work with Fanatec wheels (connected to the wheel). I'm tempted to get a Thrustmast TH8Rs shifter and the interfaceone adapter once it he gets them back in stock.

I think fanatec is going to release a club sport shifter sometime this year. I'm willing to bet it will be around $100.

Well, my CSR joystick has lost the positive click when attempting to engage in the right direction (towards the center of the wheel). It engages if you even touch it; more so, it will occasionally engage when returning to center from a push to the left. Grrrrr.

I don't want to send it back and deal with that whole mess. So, I may open her back up again and try to pin point the problem.

Anyone else experience this?

They might ship you a new part and let you fix it. My CSR is fine but it's probably had less than 25 hours of use.

My GT2 is not calibrating so they are going to send me a board to replace.

Ya I hope they just send me a replacement peice. However, the wiring harness that attaches the in-wheel board to the base is glued into the socket.... I have to remove this in order to remove the wheel from the base in order to do any repairs.

If they do just send me a replacement part and I fix it myself it had better not void the warranty....

Ahhhh, come Monday I get to experience Fanatec Customer Service....

Can't wait.

I have this problem please let me know if you get it sorted thanks.

well, looks like my next car will be a bmw 3 series. The 328i gets better fuel efficiency than my tsx and has 100 extra ft lbs of torque. Plus it has rear drive. believe it or not I might even get the automatic.

I've just started to have this happen to me..
Did you manage to get a fix?

Wow. Lol.

Definitely a widespread problem.

You're going to have to RMA it. Contact customer support through email and they will take care of you. Make sure you include all the info they ask for as well as a video; however, I am not sure you will even need one seeing as how common this is. There is no garuntee the replacement wheel will not break in the future; and I would even bet on the next one breaking as well.

My latest CSR hasn't broken (about 2-3 months now) but that is because I quit using the d-pad stick after the first wheel broke.

Again, DO NOT BUY THE CSR.
