Hey guys,

I've been using Simnet pedals since January, I think, but I was really looking forward to the Podiums, and I got them. I was quite happy with the Simnets, but I always thought I'd get the Podium pedals, even though I don't believe there is any performance advantage. They look better, so they work better for me on my rig from an aesthetic standpoint.

Now I need to say I can't find any decent material, guides or videos on how to tune them. I found multiple videos and materials for the Simnets, and many people use them.

What I want to do is really shorten the travel, specifically for Gran Turismo 7. You brake really, really hard to 100% in hairpins, so I'd love to have a relatively short travel. From there, I'd look for very smooth trail braking down to 75, 50, 25, 10, 5, whatever. I don't want a lot of load. I can figure that out in the app, but I think I really need to understand the whole logic.

What's the best way in, or maybe a decent starting position, from where I can make minor adjustments for fine tuning? That's what I'm trying to figure out, and I'd be really happy for any suggestions.View attachment 1573691

What @super_gt said above. I also adjusted the feel by reducing the cup openings, independently instead of closing one at a time completely. Started by closing each one about half way as a starting point, using digital calipers to measure the openings for more accurate tracking.

I used a video camera to see what the cups were doing in real time and it helped me understand how the changes were affecting travel and feel.

The current tune locks out the green spring first, with the next 2 elastomers locking out next. The final bit of pressure and travel is provided by the last elastomer, that falls a couple mm short of closed, using 20 kg of pressure.

Hey guys, thank you very much for your replies. I think more and more people are going to have Podium Pedals, so this thread is probably going to be of use to generations to come. I'm going to spend today trying to understand the logic. How does it really work? Fine tuning.

I was using Simnet SP Pro pedals and I was very, very happy with them, but I wanted to get Podium pedals to try them. I'm actually quite impressed with the baseplate. It's bigger, thicker, wider, longer, and I think it's a really great piece of engineering. Same for the pedals.

It took me quite some time to fine-tune the Simnets, so I'm pretty certain it's going to be a journey to fine-tune the Podium Pedals as well. It's a similar logic, just a different approach. There are many more springs and elastomers with the Simnets, and a lot fewer with the Podium Pedals. So I'm going to take time and experiment to get to what I like.

The only thing that's really troubling me is this metallic clicking sound. It's not healthy and shouldn't be there. Something is wrong, and I don't know how to diagnose and eliminate it, but it's definitely not healthy.
