Are you avoiding Fanatec products because of the new price hike?

The Euro have gone up again but their prices are the same
. It has gone up 3c this week, but that doesn't really make a mark on where it was a year ago. Are you expecting them to adjust prices daily with currency fluctuations?

This increase is a joke: most increases for products distributed in Europe were limited to 10% max.
Have you seen tvs, games, pc components or other material increase by 30 %: No.
And it is not a question of company size.

Fanboys can link the Fanatec statement as many times as they want, that does not change the fact that no other firm in this industry has increased its retail prices in Europe as much and as early as Fanatec did.

The only case where prices have increased as much for european customers is when we buy products directly in the US (i.e Derek Spears Design, Simexperience, etc). But of course that cannot be compared as those products are not distributed in Europe.

Not to mention: Unlike US or asian companies, Fanatec is a European firm with part of their costs in Euro and financial results in Euros so obviously they should impact less their prices due to rates fluctuation, not more.

All this just shows that the market misses competition, especially in Europe, at Fanatec positionning point: between Thrustmaster T500/T300 range and very high end products (like Accuforce wheel, Heusinkveld pedals, etc.).

I assume you are implying that I am a Fanatec fanboy. I will tell you now, I have never owned a racing wheel of any brand. I came close to buying a Logitech DFGT at one point, but didn't.

I happened across this thread because it was in the most recent posts box on the main forum page and did a simple search to find the official announcement.

I have not followed price trends for any of the other things you mentioned, I just know that the currency has changed quite a lot in the last few months, which is going to screw me when I move to Canada next year.

@Simmpa's implication in the OP was that Fanatec did it for profit, I showed the statement saying otherwise. Then he wanted to know why the price hadnt changed again with the currency rebound, I showed it hadnt rebounded. I couldnt give a toss about Fanatec's (or any other sim racing equipment manufacturer) plans or thoughts, I just went on facts.

Bad move, Their prices beforehand were already on the limit but at least you knew you got your money's worth quality wise, now everything seems to have increased even more, so people are naturally going to look at the competition.

As a company it's your responsibility to cope with financial difficulties by changing your formula/production costs/strategy. Just charging your customers for all of your decreased revenue will only scare them away and make your financial worries even bigger. Or at least that's how think about it.

Really glad I bought my CSW V2 when I did because Fanatec won't be seeing more of my money until prices become more realistic.

Equipment is worth whatever people are willing to pay. Because you won't pay doesn't mean someone else won't. If they are selling, then they must be worth that much. Its a free market, so if its not selling, it'll take care of itself. Not being a jerk, just letting you know Fanatec probably raised cost for a reason, not to stick it to you. Sucks for sure though.

Price hike ,what price hike never looked to start with because of their better than everybody invite only over priced wheel.
