Hope someone here can help. My Turbo S has stoped doing the self calibration after entering PC Mode. Wheel was purchased direct from Fanatec Gamershop November 2010. My usuall steps was to turn on wheel and it spins. Enter PC Mode and then it will self calibrate, then I enter PS3 mode. My wheel no longers does the spin (self calibration) after entering the PC Mode. Anyone els had this happen and know what is wrong. Firmware is 681 and is viewable in the OSD. I can also still adjust my fan speed from on to off and back to on again so all is well there. Any ideas Guy's and Gal's??????

Unfortunately I have bad news for you, my PWTS is also broken and, Fanatec support is not very helpful. It has been the third week since my first email to them. Written off to me after two weeks, and since then nothing happens. They are not helpful.

I dont think anything is wrong with your wheel. It should do the self calibration when first powered on then when you enter PC mode it may move a little but not recalibrate again. Do you have a RF Dongle. When I use the dongle, it goes half a turn and then returns but if I use a USB cable from steering wheel to PS3, it doesnt move, It just lights up all the buttons (GT2). I also had a GT3 RS V2 and it was the same deal.

Does it work correctly??

I know how you feel, since November last year my wheel has a power up fault.
It can be plugged in for up to 30 mins and do nothing then all of a sudden it wiil come to life.

I have little confidence my wheel would get fixed in a hurry so put up with it.
Havnt got much reason to have a great deal of confidence in returning it under warranty.

Fanatec had my money 6 months before the wheel released and shipped, I wonder if they will refund me 6 months early and I will ship it back to them whenever I can. What you say Fanatec?

Such a shame as these were good products and I was real impressed in the beginning...

My wheel has always calibrated itself when powering it up. Then when the game starts up it does it again. I guess I should know if my wheel is acting right or not, I have used it since November. When I drive with it now it will not center. I did not describe it's issue right however. It is not that it does not spin when entering PC mode. I know it doesn't then. When entering PS3 game it always has calibrated at this point, Basicly calibrating for whatever game you are playing. I would have to resett my wheel up again now to be sure of sequence but it always calibrated twice. When I first give it power, and when entering the perticular game. Hope I am making my self understood as it has not always been my strong suit unfortunatly. I have tried RF Dongle and USB since USB is how I normaly use it except when my Brother comes with his Xbox over for Forza.

I have not said this correctly. What is does is this. Turn on PS3 and wheel will spin. Enter PC mode no spin which is normal. Enter PS3 mode nothing. Enter the game and nothing. This is where it should calibrate. It has to for what ever game is being played and is how it has always worked. On this platform and on Xbox. I have tried this with USB cable and RF Dongle.

Have you tried re-installing drivers?
Ensure no other USB devices are connected to PS3

Seems a detection issue and unfortunately the PWTS does not have a "PS" button to let you try to re-sync it that way.

Try a Joypad, and set it to "Controller 1" with the wheel connected get in game and reconnect the wheel to see if you can in some way get it to detect/sync again.

Do the lights come on okay but it wont sync just or could it be a power issue of some sort from the PS3?

My Turbo S only calibrates when you first turn it on, it's not supposed to calibrate again when you change modes.

This is exactly what I used to have to do when it would do it now and then and was how I could get it to work again. I do not have anything usb pluged in when trouble shooting so no issues there.

"My Turbo S has stoped doing the self calibration after entering PC Mode"

Two p's in stopped, and like I said it's not supposed to calibrate AFTER entering PC mode.

I guessed you missed my corrections in my other post explaining my mistake. You were probably to busy with your editor day job. Thanks for your wonderfully help ful post. Without your replys giving all that usefull info on what to do to fix my wheel I would be still sitting hear looking at it saying darn wished it would work. Oh'yea, I am still sitting here wishing it would work. Guess you weren't as helpfull as I thought. But man you sue taught me how to spell.

I have a PWTS and never had it double calibrate no matter how many modes you put it in. However, DFGT will calibrate once when you turn it on and once again when entering a game. My fanatec wheel only will self calibrate when first turned on. Been that way since I got it.

Helpful post.

Try reading #4 and #7 then or offering your own help.

When youve had as many issues with fanatec products as I have you tend to feel a bit helpless for others and drained regards the whole process of dealing with their support and the time in getting it sorted. When you have the same component fail twice with minimal usage then you are just awaiting it going faulty again.

Armin does seem to work hard at his job though to be fair, he is not the problem.

Not mine. Mine did just as I say. You can still feel it try to spin even now it just doesn't finish it. Now in the game it is unusable. Just keeps banging into the wall or if it isn't banging in wall it is like there is no feedback. Also is not centering. I see a lot of you thinking I am crazy but clearly some must do like muine and some may not. Maybe it had to do with when they were built, or whatever, I do not know cause I didn't build them, I can only say what it did and what is now does. Got an email earlier to send it in so now it may get fixed. I just hope it doesn't take untill My GT2 arrives. I miss my wheel dang it.

I never cease to be amazed at the amount of people in these forums that are so much better than the rest of us that they feel the need to point it out to us all. What language you ask? How about , any idea what you might do to help me, or any one else in these threads all over this forum? Surely your time could be better spent than dishing out Critisism for no apparent reason. I wish you good fortune Pal.

If your wheel does not calibrate after turning it on and putting to pc-mode something is wrong. So contant fanatec.

I have not had much trouble to get replacement products for my broken fanatec products. Both time it took about 2weeks for send be new unit. (Wheel first and then shifter. Now i have fixed the broken wheel so got an extra new wheel as a spare) As a side note, it continues to wonder me how people seek help for their faulty products from "random" web forums and not contact manufacturer.
