Not 100% now... It was originally decided that Darin would do it. Then he emailed me saying he was no longer doing the pr side if things.

Darin has announced on ISR that he no longer works for Fanatec.

Thats a great question. I would very much like to the answer to this.

GT5 used to have this odd wobble with both logitech wheels and Fanatec wheels. I didn't see it exhibited with the Thrustmaster. So I remember asking Thomas if there was any way that Fanatec would consider switching to the Thrustmaster driver. It wasn't really answered. In the end it didn't really matter as I believe the issue I'm talking about was patched.

ASAP really.. Thomas told me to send him 15 so I did.. I emailed him last week to remind him so I'm not 100% on an eta

Could you post up the 15 questions.

LogiForce

Could you release some more info about the ClubSport Shifter and maybe also the ClubSport Handbrake?

How do you see the market for sim gear in the future, say 5 to 10 years?

If still possible. Thomas mentioned different accessories for the CSW like a smartphone holder for displaying all sorts of stuff.
Are there any new ideas for accessories that you came up with in the mean time and if so which ones?
Also I the smartphone holder still in the works, cause that sounded like a fun idea? Using it for telemetry or just a dashboard for example.

Paskowitz

I would like more information about the quick release system. What type of plug does it use?
Would it be possible for the modding community to design there own wheels from readily available components?

The next generation of consoles is around the corner (1-2 years).
To me whether the CSW and CSRE or really any Fanatec wheel can work with next gen consoles is a big deal.
I would like to know if Fanatec has talked to Sony and MS about this and if so any answer that can be discussed.

How many man/women hours does it take to make one CSW/CSRE?

What do you think is the biggest competition to Fanatec?

Mr. Latte

New Website / When, was mentioned over a year ago.

URM

My question would be on regards as to whether fanatec would be expanding regional support. (I.e expanding to Australia or Asia)

ZSPaulus
Will Fanatec be making products specifically for drifters?
For instance; will the CSR E have a rim available that is suited for drifting (no buttons on the wheelface, smooth spokes that dont chop your fingers of..)

Timppaq
Any possibilities to get 2 analog paddles behind the wheel in the future?
(left / right) Could be used as clutch etc., but more importantly as throttle & brake.
I know many sim racers would be very glad to see a quality wheel with this feature.

Caz
With nintendo stepping into the HD generation with the upcoming release of the WII-U and its fairly impressive specs are there any plans for support in the "kiddie console"?

Spaghetti69

Is it possible that a Steering ball add on for one handed racers could be created?

GSLooney

Following from the invite from Turn10 to build a Wheel for Forza and some work with Codemasters on F1 2011.
will we see more closer work between Fanatec and the game Studio's or Is the future in working closer with say
Sony and Microsoft to advance the standards and ultimately the feel and immersion?

Thomas already answered this on his blog. He knows nothing about what MS and Sony are doing for their next consoles and believes that gaming "journalists" are just writing fodder to get attention and new consoles will not be out until at least 2013/14. Whatever the future holds, Fanatec will do its best to accommodate its users. If a software or hardware fix is possible it will be pursued.

Question answered.

That still leaves the other questions in there from paskowitz. I wonder if we will be able to put on a normal wheel with a quick release system.

With CARS being announced to be WII U compatible looks like my question kind of made sense. ;)

Lol I can just imagine all the crushed dreams if the WiiU is not compatible...

Then again, it will probably sell like crazy... so that kind of market should at least be given a chance.

It's unreal how well Nintendo sells... I have no clue how they do it.

Nintendo sells well now for its ease of accsess for everyone. If you dig through the pile of shovelware you will find some excellent nintendo exclusives on Wii.
Personally, i have high hopes for the wii u.

Sadly, i think it will always be cut short do to it being nintendo and also being branded as a wii. Its going to be a pretty solid machine and is looking to actually be a step up from ps3 /360. Nintendos major problem has been 3td party support, and the U looks to be getting plenty. If some good sims come for it, think of the possibilities of using a wheel and the U controller as shift light, gauges, telemetry etc.

The wii u deserves its fair shake
