I've noticed how that when I get the wheel tuned in to a particular car and track and am happy with the results. It doesn't always fit with a different car/track.
The difference is more noticeable when you switch between normal and supercars etc.
So when I get a new car I take it for a practice session, make the wheel adjustments til i'm happy , then record the settings down in a spreadsheet on my ipod.
It may sound like alot of faffing about but I find that taking just a bit of time to do this is well worth it:tup:
Some cars require a drift setting and others not. Different FFB for different cars also.
So am building a data base of my prefered settings for each car and can then refer to it at any time. The Fanatec Wheel is just amazing to be able to achieve this:drool::)

Did you not leave your steering at 900 degrees? If you change this it will feel different for a variety of cars because it's forcing a rotation that may or may not be suitable for that vehicle. I find leaving it in 900 degree mode all cars seem to steer perfectly.

I leave steering lock @ 900 since the gam will adjust the steering sensitivity from car to car in gt5. for pc games, i use different steering locks. I have driftmode set to 4, spring, damper, and deadzone @ 0. sho and abs @ 0.

Hey got a question for you guys! I just got my Carrera wheel, just don't know how to do the firmware update om it... Can anyone help? Is there a thread somewhere with a step by step?
Great thread and idea by the way!! I'm gonna do the same!

I do not adjust sensitivity , I always leave that set to off (900)
The settings I modify with are force feed back. , shock , abs ,
I don't have the deadzone , damper , linearity , settings because I am afraid of doing the update and it going wrong somehow:nervous: (Is it true updates are not covered by warranty?)
I manage ok with the adjustable settings so far.
Question: When flat out on the de la sarthe straight there is a tiny wobble/judder left and right. Not all cars but some. Would this be fixed by the 681 update , deadzone adjustment option ? Thanks

I started out having in game force feed back set at 3 and at 100 on the wheel.
Now I use force feed back at 7 in game and 50 or 60 on the wheel,
This covers most starting point adjustments and provides a nice smooth and flowing
cornering experience that is neither too strong and juddery or too weak. It's right for me anyways:sly:

I would suggest you update your firmware. It's easy, and if something goes wrong, you can always just put the old firmware back on, or try again. There's not much room for error.

The extra settings (Deadzone, Linearity, Spring, and Damper especially) really help.
