First off, let me state what I race, and how I race. I am mainly into Stock Car(Nascar) racing. So, I am constantly turning and holding the wheel to the left. I received my GT2 back in early March and started from there. I was first primarily racing on the 360 with Nascar09 and FM3. Then I got iRacing about 2 weeks after the wheel. FYI: I constantly configure the wheel, and this issue persists.

I run the FF around 30-40 for the 360. at 100 for iRacing, but at 1 on the in-game FF affect. So really, not at all for the PC, only for small rumbling effects. I have noticed that the center is about 10 degrees off with a small deadzone in the exact center 5 degrees each way, but more when you try and turn right.

These leads me to the issue. After a couple months, I have now noticed it more and more leave its center position, or have more of a "deadzone" than center position. I have the wheel Deadzone set at 0, so there should NOT be an issue there. I also realize certain camber/caster settings will change where the wheel's center is. On Superspeedways, when holding the wheel to the right for the camber, I have had to increase my hold to the right by about 10 degrees. This leads me to this. (Random Note: In game, iRacing that is, at some random points, the wheel's center point adjusts slightly, making me hold the wheel about 10 more degrees to the right for the rest of the race. Anyone else notice this?)

It concerns me since I have only had the wheel a few months, and treat is like it is a newborn child. I have not contacted support as of yet to see if there is something I am looking too much into, or if I have a real problem. All assistance/info is welcome, including you Thomas. If this issue is something I need to contact support over, I can make a video showing you all these symptoms.

Not at home at the moment Ant.

Have you re-centred your wheel?
Something like put into PC mode, move wheel to centre, hold all 4 bottom buttons.

I did it a while ago after I noticed a slight off centre.

Can't remember the exact procedure. Something like the above though.

I will look into it Spagetti. I have noticed this since the beginning on the PC. Nothing too terrible, but does not feel right. If more can confirm or have some advice, it would be greatly appreciated. This does not affect my overall racing performance. I just want to be able to hold the wheel how its telemetry is showing me on the screen.

There is definately a manual re centre option on this wheel mate. No worries.

Sup AGP. Your issue sounds very familiar to this guy in the Fanatec support thread:

http://members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/700/3409.page

Seems like some unlucky few members are having some issues with gt2/gt3rs wheels in iRacing

one guy your issue reminds me of:

Since yesterdays iRacing update my GT3 V2 goes off centre during racing. But sometimes comes back in centre after some turns.
Very very annoying.
I did reset the wheel, recalibrated the wheel it self and in iRacing. etc. etc. etc.

(I run the latest FW and drivers on W7 64 bit, CSP are connected direcly to the PC)

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

@sand and Spagetti,

I have come to figure out its the wheel just worn out when turning to the left a bit. I have to exaggerate the move in order to see more of a turn to the left. To the right, it acts dead on. It might have been from NTG11 issues with FFB wheels. Mine grinded a few times, but I never let it go for more than 2-3 seconds before I shut it down. But that slight grinding might have done it. I even filed a complaint on the Better Business Bureau over it with Activision. They said if it is under warranty, then get a new one from Fanatec. (Btw, I did configure it based off of the manual and through iRacing, it is 100% noticeable still)

I have no clue how it has worn down this quickly. It is very annoying btw. I am going to ask Thomas and support to see if there is anything that can be done. I can more than prove my issue too. I had 2 friends stop by last night to confirm, and they did. This stinks. But, the wheel still works, just turning to the left in elongated and not on at all.............Ruins my corners up terribly. Thomas, if you see this, please let me know what I have to do. Thanks all!

Just a quick update. It was 110% user error. I had the Sensitvity too high, and I had to turn more than necessary to make the car work. I purchased the Dallara Indy car last night on iracing, and had to lower the SEN to steer it properly.

Once done, I had total control not just over the Indy car, but all the stock cars. No wonder I had to oversteer, I was a fool! So, please disregard anything I have said on this, it was ALL my own stupidity and error. Boy do I feel dumb.

Sean, I know you will get a laugh out of this, as will you Thomas. I am sorry for raising a red flag over the 20% that just can't figure it out with common sense. My GT2 is solid, I might not be as much.............

EDIT: Dallara Indy car ROCKS!!!!!!! Much better braking than Nascar(I know this is a given, but new to me)

Very good to hear you figured out the issue. I'm going to go double check my sensitivity options in iRacing as well :scared:

Yea, originally I was at 900, had tooooooo many issues, then thought at around 760-770, I was right, that is when I thought the wheel was broke or not reading right. Then I purchase the Indy car, knowing I had to turn the Sen down to drive it. When that worked beautifully, I went and tried out a Stock car. Then I felt really stupid for raising an unwarranted red flag.

I have the SEN at 370 now, messed with it from 350-400, 370 feels dead on for all cars. Again, boy, do I feel dumb................ Now this makes me realize all I have to do is go on the xbox, and lower the sen to drive the cars right......... No common sense here for the moment.......

Glad you got that figured out AGP. I need to double check the SEN settings on mine...i finally have Forza3 (SEN = 900) sorted out but F1 and Dirt 3 just dont seem right. In F1 I cant get the wheel turned fast enough for the quick corners and dirt is WAY too sensative. Just need to take the time to figure it out for each game, but im loving forza too much to switch to the others.

Are there any kind of patch notes or whatever explaining the new beta drivers and what they hope to have improved?

Hey AGP just for the heck of it go clockwise on a NASCAR oval with your previous settings. Your old issue should be with right-handers now.

Scotty

obvius. It's cool man. I have nothing to hide or care about. I just cannot believe how blindsighted I was lol. I raised the red flags up for no reason lol. I apologized to thomas and johannes for doing it. Since I have made the adjustment, I have won 4 out of my last 6 races on iRacing!. was like 0-118 before.
