Fangio VS Brabham

Fangio's in his old Mercedes W196 car; that has to be from either 1954 or 1955. There were two types of W196s: The Streamliner, used at high-speed events, and the one in the video with all the aerodynamic fairings removed.

Brabham appears to be in his old Brabham-Repco (type number BT24 or BT26); it's from either 1966 or 1967, since I don't think many changes were made. Those cars were Constructor's Cup champions in both seasons.

If I'm not mistake, there appears to be a white with blue-striped Maserati 250F in racing in the background (anywhere from 1954 to 1958).

The last car looks to be a Ferrari sports-racing car from the latter half of the 1950s; a TR, perhaps? I'm not good at picking out those type of cars.

Thanks for that.

It seems Fangio was really going for it. I wonder if better quality can be found

Great Video 👍

Keen observers will also see Peter Brock's Famous A9X. Great track Sandown, only 15 minutes from my house, you can hear the V8s if it's quiet enough and the wind is right.

Did Fangio get the fastest lap or did Brabham?

man, I did some math. and Juan Manuel Fangio was 67 during that race!!! because he was 47 when he won his 5th (and final) world championship in '58, and this was 20 years later. he was stuck right behind Brabham and he was doing it so effortlessly, even though the other driver was triple World Champ Jack Brabham and his car was at least 10 years older! it's simply incredible to see drivers of that calibre driving like that.

rock.

Excellent video Dion 👍

@Casio: Yeah I also noticed Brocks then new A9X, which now is old like those cars that were racing then ( Fangio and Brabham). :)

Amazing race!

By the way, if you're interested in cars like these, you really should try Grand Prix Legends. It's almost 8 years old and still voted for best racesim.
