Yes, it's shameless advertising, but for some reason Jordan, great guy that he is, wears it each year.

So I was thinking I wasn't going to do Fantasy F1 this year. I got kinda disillusioned with F1 last year. I thought that the stewarding and general interference with the action was a little too much to bear. But over the off-season, the excitement, and the knowledge that James Allen would not be commentating, has got to me. Is F1 2009 to be a vintage year? Perhaps. Certainly there's enough uncertainty at present.

Think you've got a better idea of what's going to happen than me? Prove it: enter a team!

Nice name Famine. Added my garage race team. Team name (also soon to be my go-kart league name- well, in a few years) is Austra-Manx Motorsport.

Well I tried something a bit different! Hope there is a way to see other teams and get an idea of what you guys have gone with!

You will be able to see the other teams after the entry closes.
 
I'm sure a lot of people have gone my combination. I had to stick to f1 drivers as I have no knowledge of non f1 drivers pretty much.
 
Admittedly I rushed through the registration process so I completely missed that.
 
Ok, with the low budget there are definitely a few obvious choices there looking at current testing ;)
I think I've got a balanced team that's covered a few possibilities.
 
I've joined! I thought the budget was ok-ish, I got to pick who I wanted and still had a bit to spare. Hope to improve on my 14th place in last years championship. (I think I was 14th)

I thought the budget was fine - but then I didn't buy anything McLaren or Ferrari... :D
 
A great comp to try your own management skills, I guess.
 
Not this season, I fear. It'll be funny to watch the teams at Melbourne.. I can guess Famine's team pretty accurately with that fat, obese hint.

I think its safe to say you have to be nuts if you don't have at least 1 part BGP in your team.

I just realised I put STR in my team when I would have picked someone else. Hopefully Buemi does well in Australia.
 
I thought the money was right. I just came up one million short of my preferred 3rd driver and therefore had to compromise. A word which I think will be the watchword of these cash strapped times.
 
I would've taken a vastly different strategy if the ggFF1 formula allowed saving money for the next season, but seeing as it doesn't, I may as well splurge on an expensive part.
 
Can I just check, is it OK to have more than one team, so long as they are sufficiently different?

Yup, you just basially named my team. I have elements of all 4 teams you've mentioned. I threw 1 gamble driver in there.

That is where i stuffed up in my team. I wanted to put bmw at some point but put str. I've gone for a gamble element aswell. Team has been right on the toes of the front runners but could swing either way.
 
I have a good feeling about Fiona Leggate this year.
