Hi Y'all

I've been neglecting the GTP for a bit recently, because I've been working on a little competition...

Jordan has kindly agreed to let me mention this here and in the F1 forum (I always knew he was a top guy!), so here it is:

giles-guthrie.com is running a Fantasy Formula One competition. It runs like all fantasy games, i.e. you have a budget, and you have to pick a team, and then... well, you know the rest.

It's free to enter, which is a good thing, but then since I'm just a bloke, the fact that it's free to enter means you're basically competing for fame, glory and a swelled head. Unless of course I can blag something to give away.

So, anyway, if you're up for it, then hop on over to ff1.giles-guthrie.com and have a look. And if you're not up for it, then sorry for taking up your time in reading this.

Cheers!

Just finished my fantasy team, I got Damon Hill as Test Driver, thats all the info you get outta me :)

i did one of these once at ten-tenths last year or the year before, but the fantasy page appears to be gone.

Yeah, I signed up for the Fantasy F1 too. Sounds like fun. The money cap is a great idea. So you can't just pick all Ferrari stuff or BMW, etc. Looking forward to the rest of the season!

So if i know nothing about F1, can i still enter and make a total fool of myself?

:D

Oh yeah. It's almost as if knowledge of the sport is a hindrance! :)

i signed up, and i didn't realise until the end that i was 0% over budget. i'd spent it all, and didn't go over budget! hehhe!

when does it start?

It all kicks off on Friday 1st March in Melbourne, so keep your eyes peeled. You can start scoring points from the first practice session, although the scores will not be updated until after the race.

Pupik Motorsports ready for Melbourne.

Do I get to keep the extra $1 million?

:rotfl:

No. :D

But it will be available to you if you need it when you're doing substitutions!

giles--as far as subs go, will the prices change during the season? Or will they remain the same?

I've been thinking about this for a while, and the answer is that, for this season at least, the prices will remain constant. I'm happy to stand by my valuations, as I think I have a reasonable handle on what's happening in F1, although I think that my ability to be wrong gives scope for people to score unexpectedly.

Maybe next year the prices will be dynamic.

However, if you substitute an item, you only score for the new item from the point at which you make the substitution.

Just wanted to bounce this up to the top of the tree again, and to say:

Hurry!

As entries close at 11pm GMT on Thursday night!!

Giles do u have my team? Just making sure, I'm pretty sure I re-sent it in.

Hey how about posting a shedual on your site of all the races? Mabe even see if speed channel will give you their times.

Anyone else confirm wether cbc will be carrying formula one this year?
