There is one trial where you have this, I think Pirate Beheader (the guys with the lightning over their head and machete), rushing towards you, and you have to defend yourself with a shotgun.
The reloading takes so long, that after the second guy I just kept stringing chain takedowns and throwing knife takedowns together.
So awesome, felt like I'm Jason Bourne :D

The one with the SPAS 12?, Man that trail was great.

I have to say that forcing myself a day off from Far Cry 3 has been a pain in the .....

Oh well, back on it tomorrow. :D

Does anyone know for sure which maps I have to buy to reveal the relics on the map? There are serveral and I don't want to waste money...well...not like I don't have too much (compared to the 10.000$ limit). :p

Dont worry about money you'll get plenty enough to buy everything and more if you're a collector. I had to spend some of my money near the end of the game so I wouldnt be capped.

I think I spent 4000$ to get the maps for all collectibles (don't buy the loot maps, they are a waste of money). Anyway last night I got all the collectibles in the first island, now I need to capture the remaining 14 outposts and the rest of the collectibles.

I think I am now around chapter 8 and some of this actually reminds me a little of Uncharted in a good way. So now its a combination of RDR, Skyrim, JC2, and Uncharted.

People have been reporting a major game ending bug with FC3. I think the camera and rock disappearing "bug" might actually be part of the game. I finished a mission last night and this happened to me and I thought I had the game ending bug. I could not even fire my gun or anything. I almost gave up. Well once I got out of that area and headed to do the next mission, everything started working again. I am almost thinking they do this to you on purpose to maybe conserve ammo or to keep you on track?? So now if it happens I just continue toward the next mission or fast travel away from that area. Then it seems to work again. But I was not able to get my camera, rocks, or gun to work. Now it all works fine.

Well, money isn't the issue (if it'd only be like that in real-life). I've liberated all outposts and claimed all radio towers and I've only completed one story mission yet. I just don't want to waste money anyway. :)

Also, it's currently downloading patch 1.03!

- Added Russian and Czech language support for Steam versions.
- Fixed issues for machines that have more than 32 cores.
- Fixed issues for activation keys bundled with ULC privileges. ULC content will now unlock during activation.
- Improvements to playlists and rotation for User Made maps.

32 cores?!

I am reading a DICE dev was complaining to UBI about his dev machine crashing.... lol. Whether that's true or not....

HUD adjustments in the next patch.

I finished the story once and still had about 4 guns yet to unlock. Is there a list of all the signature weapons and how to get them? Unless they weren't signature?

In the menu, you can check the Handbook.
It will show you, what you have to do to unlock stuff and how far you are to do it ;)

Well the handbook was where I saw I was still to unlock 4 guns. Didn't say anything about requirements for how to unlock them.

Go to the game's wiki/ign page.

I've been on them, they didn't seem that detailed the last time I tried with half the pages with nothing on them.

In the Progress page of the Handbook you have white, blue and orange stars in the different sections.
The white stars stand for Signature weapons, you just have to progress in this section til the star and you receive one, e.g. 6 trials of the Rakyat and you'll receive one (the Ripper I think).
This for the signature weapons, the rest of the "normal" guns will unlock, once you reach island 2.

Captured all the outposts & radio towers on the other island today but didn't continue the story. Equipped as follows:

2cQXl.jpg

1: AMR Z93 Sniper Rifle
2: Shredder Vector .45 ACP Submachine Gun
3: Ripper MKG Machine Gun
4: Bushman P416 Assault Rifle

Versatile, fun & deadly - even heavily armored NPCs can't stand more than 5 or 6 bullets from the MG and die immediately if they're hit by the sniper rifle. No matter if it's a headshot or not. :)

All towers complete, just two more bases to capture. I've been playing a bit of coop lately. Man it's fun. If you've playing any of the Left for Dead series, this has a very similar feel, which is good! Lots to do with plenty of variety.

I also lost my camera, but hope it will come back after I continue the story mode.

Is it possible to use everything obtained in SP in coop as well?

Nope, it's a completely different story line and everything. It's set 6 months prior with a different group of people.

You level though and earn perks along the way.

How many other people are addicted to archery?

I use the recurve bow literally whenever possible, even if impractical.

Like this:
Untitled.png

He was just at the tip of the arrow with how high I had to aim. It's just so satisfying of a kill.

(He's currently laying dead in the center of the sight)

And almost all of the outposts I've taken out so far have been without being spotted, and if I was spotted it was certainly without any alarms going off. I typically run this setup unless I'm going into a mission that might get a bit too thick to bother being stealthy:

The ACE is because you never know when the 🤬 might get a bit thick anyway.

I just finished getting all of the towers, I have 8 more bases to capture, and I'm petty sure I'm close to completing he story line. 227 of my 975 kills are with arrows, 60 are take downs, and 175 are snipers. The rest are mostly ACE or SPAS kills because some of the later missions don't really have the option of sneaking.

I haven't done much with the bow. Maybe next time through.... (oh yes, there will be another run through the game....)

👍

It's great fun. The key thing is to remember to recycle arrows as much as possible. They can be picked up whether they missed the target or not, and the max you can carry with the rugged quiver or whatever is 20. So if you missed check walls and stuff behind your target when you get the chance. Feels like Christmas coming up on an enemy and finding a perfectly useable arrow buried in his forehead.

And I recommend getting the skill that draws the bow 50% faster, makes it much easier when the enemies are spread around a base in groups of two. The partner never gets a chance to get the other group's attention. >: D

Once you master timing and distance correction it's an absolute monster for taking out massive numbers totally undetected. Fires faster than any suppressible sniper and one hits anything but heavies and some wildlife(Which is really the only reason I carry the suppressed Z93; take out the heavies from a distance then move in with the bow).

Can you stealth kill the heavy enemies BTW? I haven't tried yet, and I don't know the most efficient way to take out those guys. So far I've just sniped everyone, and left the heavy enemy as last. And then I've either blown him up with a 50 cal or diving in and shooting him with an RPG

Will the last sniper rifle you can one shot them without any trouble. You can add a silencer to it too. Also in the skill path there is skill that let you kill heavy armor guys with a takedown. So yeah you can.

I have taken out a few heavies, by sniping them through a small gap at the back of their head.

Sneak up behind them and a silenced shot to the back of the head (you can only see the top third) does the trick.

For a more noisy option C4 does well against them too, I like planting a load of C4, luring them towards it and hitting the detonator, multi-kill bonanza.
