I thought there was a thread about this movie already, I swear I remember talking about it...

anyway, bought the DVD last night, love the movie, love the cars, its all good!! Gotta hate the part when the charger gets wrecked. I cringed everytime I see it! Makes me want a ricer more and more everyday though!!

Magic you are so lucky to have this movie. At least you have seen it. I have not seen it. I need to by the DVD or rent it or something. It kills me when people talk about it because the only material I have to use in a conversation about it is commercial scenes.

I think I'm gonna rent it, and have a look see. I saw it at the cinema and quite liked it, but that was a while ago, and I'm not sure about how I feel about it now. I remember it being a real rush, but not a great storyline, but then I also remember it annoying me, so I don't want to go buy a DVD that I never watch because I don't like it!! (And I KNOW the wife will hate it!).

So, off to the video store for me...

I rented this Sunday and watched it. Much better movie than I thought it was going to be. And that Charger is definitely IT

My wife even thought it was pretty good which shocked me.

Question though: What was with all the gay-bob graphics on the sides of the cars? Made them look like a Hot Wheel at KayB's

I thought you were'nt going to be able to post for a while Magic?

Graphics are really in... but they did use people a bit much, most of the time, its lines, or colors.

anyway.... I have been lucky and avoided my owner.

This film should be real close to all our hearts here on GTP cos its the only film I have seen with REAL cars you know - fast cars built for racing - I really enjoyed it as i'm real keen on the modified car scene so it was right up my street !!! jw

The movie is great if you don't pay attention to the mistakes.
-Calling Nitrous Oxide NOS(That's a company name)
-Horrible Acting
-Being able to see motorcycle ramps
-You could see the white helmet of the stunt driver in the Charger as it flips
-The T-top of the Supra appears and disappears through out the end of the movie
-I know someone can add more to this list.
Don't get me wrong, I liked the movie. It's just that they should have done some research and caught mistakes.

it wasn't a high budget film... Universal didn't think it would be such a hit. The second I am sure will be a lot better in a lot of aspects!!

They do (sort of), Tokyo Xtreme Racer. I've got the one for the PS2 and it is a pretty fun game, you have to get into it for a while for it to get good. Lots of customization options.

I thought The Fast and the Furious was the cheesiest movie I've seen in a long time. I mean really, a gang of car drivers holding up trucks full of home entertainment equipment? And they don't even bring weapons. Sure thing ... And the dudes in the trucks just let these guys crawl onto the truck. I would have been doing defensive driving from day 1.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who thoroughly detests this movie.

Seeing it was an hour and a half of my life that I'd rather have back.

I could go on and on about why it was terrible, but I'll just list one reason -

People who don't know any better honestly believe the technical stuff that's offered up as fact in this movie. I don't know how many times I've had to explain what "Double Clutching" is becuase of this film, I dont think I could calculate the number of times I've explained it if I sat here all day with a graphing calculator.

Basically, IMO, F&F is only good as a door stop or as visual entertainment by putting it in the microwave and letting it cook and watching the sparks fly.

Lmao! I won't be that harsh, but lets just say i was a little disappointed. Worst thing was the lack of actual racing.

I HATED the actual movie. The cars were quite nice, especially the Jetta, sure, but there was no plot development. AT ALL.

If there's a sequel, we better find out what happens to the guys that get shot, where the cars end up, how the cars end up, etc.

Apparently the cast of the movie are goning to be appearing at Nopi Nationals in Alanta this year, looking for future stars (cars) for the Fast and the Furious 2...

If you plan to go, might wanna look out for them!
