i was looking for some tips to help me keep control when drifting high speed wide turns, such as turn 1 in midfield. any help would be appreciated.

OK heres the thing all I think your problem is going into the dirt in midfield right? If so heres what you got to do.

Go to the turn slow down till 4th gear, turn to the left with out pressing the gas and the turn into the turn then tap the gas if you need to.This is called weight shifting. This will help on all turns to get more sideways also.

keep on the inside, then go full throttle at the clipping point...

that's how MOST turns are

Book it up and start your slide from a crazy wicked distance, keep your front wheels turned steadily with the curve of the turn and use as much throttle as you feel needed from the actions of the rear of the car.

I usually drift at aorun 120MPH, I go outside and snap it into the corner...errr...feint drift. That should work, but gott ahve some good throttle and brake control.

hmmm... well lets see if you end up going inside and into the dirt that means you speed is too slow. if you end up going to the outside dirt that means you too fast.

now here is the point. in order to shoot for a farther distance you have to use positive angle (not so far side ways). in turns like midfield turn#1 you must not feint if you have a low power car(sims doesnt refer to this). concentrate on the car angle and just full throttle out. oh you must have stiff suspension to do so also, along with good gear ratios so you can maintain torque band. ill pm you some set ups. if you have problems use sims and just lower the power. it should do fine. laters.
